For anyone who has young children running around the house a door with a lock (like the one that comes with the Sonata) to block access to the power button is a very useful feature IMHO.

The Sonata is a nice utilitarian case with a lot of great features. :)

I agree. Anyone with a Creative LiveDrive who plugs in headphones into it like me and others would find this annoying.

And of course we all know what a Creative LiveDrive is,don't we.(picturing most reading this running off to search for this "whatever it is" lol)

The Sonata's PSU is fine for almost any system out there, see sig. I did take the front door off because of the coax cable running from my Audigy2's front panel box won't let the door shut.

This is what I am refering too. If most don't have them then that's not my problem because I do have one and it would present a problem just as it would for anyone else who has one.

I have an Antec Performance Plus 660 AMG, very similar case. Amazing build quality. I think Antec TP PSU's have too many damn molex's to manage, my case is a zoo!

NOT THIN, VERY THICK. I know cause I moded one using a $10 hand nibbler and OMG!!! it was like a butter knife cutting through a rock.

I was going to put together a PC for my friend using this case and we decided on the new Antec SLK 3700 BQE (black quiet edition) instead. A lot of reviews seemed to like it in favor of the Sonata. I haven't used the Sonata myself but the SLK 3700BQE was really nice. I was actually quite surprised by how much of a difference simply having a 120mm fan is. I turned the thing on with the case side off for the first time, and I thought I'd connected the power button incorrectly because it was so quiet I didn't notice it was on at first. Probably also that the A64 fan is so much better. I have an Antec 1080 AMG for my old Athlon XP with a CPU fan that squeals everytime I turn the computer on.

I just got this case a week ago at Fry's for 89.99-30 rebate. This is my second Antec case. Im using it to hold my old school 1700+ @ 2.4 with 1 CD drive and 1 HD.

-PROS

great quality construction
hardrive mounted on rubber
sideways harddrive bays
small
quiet

-CONS

LACK OF INTAKE (although my system seems fine)
its odd, when i mount an extra 120 in there BEHIND the HDDs (where its supposed to go) CPU temps ROSE by 4-5 degress. maybe it messes up airflow.
no wondow( personal)

The Sonata is a very good case. But I am not a big fan of the shiney "piano black" finish. Instead, I like this Antec case 3700 BQE. However, it has a 350 PSU instead of the 380 PSU.

How can I go about telling the difference between the Sonata with the old PS vs the new one? CompUSA has them on sale on Black Friday and I wanted to get one, but I am not sure which PS is in it

If you purchased it from someplace like www.directron.com they can do a power supply upgrade. It costs a little more. Or just buy a more expensive case or one with no power supply.

I am not talking about upgrading the power supply.

The new version of it that Antec is shipping with has the 24A on the 12V rail, I was wondering if there is a way to check if it the new version or old version. Like a sticker on the box or something?

Good question. If the sales person at CompUSA will let you open the case before purchasing it, you can remove the side panel and look at the sticker on the power supply itself. The power ratings for each rail will be listed on a sticker on the power supply. You can check the 12V rail that way as a last resort. Otherwise, I don't know if the power ratings are printed on the outside of the box.

The Sonata's a nice case by the way.

Hope this helps...

I have two of these... awesome cases. One I got about 3 months ago... it's 24A. The other one I got a couple months before that and is 18A.

Hey Justin, did the boxes look identical to you if you remember? Or possibly something a little different on the outside packaging?

I am going to go to CompUSA just to look at the boxes sometime before Black Friday anyway
