I think its a great thing, just be sure to let the school officals know about the site to avoid some greater problems later on such as making some strict rules in regards to use your school's name/etc as a name or as a main focus for the forums. It'll be better off if you just kept it open to the public and have no assoication with any school. Save you some trouble, just my $0.02 here. The forum looks great, I like it. I hope this goes really well for you.
