I dunno, they seem kind of...well..."old" colors...like you'd see on a 1960's kitchen or something.

I think the green by itself wouldn't look too bad, but making it a little bit darker would help.

The picture isn't the greatest representation of the colors, the green doesn't look as "pastel" as it does in the pic. The green looks awesome by itself, we're just trying to find a good color for the chair rail/panelling

it's really 'pastel'-ly, if you know what i mean.
and much too contrasting for my taste.

It doesn't look pastel-ly at all in real life, the picture doesn't do it justice (bad lighting).

Bump for update

Can you believe there was a time when someone thought this looked good? That's what was behind the ugly wallpaper we pulled down, I can't find pictures of the wallpaper. I have no idea why the chair rail is so high up on the wall.

Wainscoting & chair rail white. Nice, light background wallpaper on the top.

After seeing your second pic, I'd say that's a major clusterfvck! They slapped that paneling on after the walls had been pink for a while, not at the same time. Looks like good quality paneling, but it is too high, and isn't true wainscoating. As long as you're doing it, you might as well do it right. Rip that down and put up some philadelphia fencing in its place at the proper 36" height. With wide baseboards, you could cut 8' lengths into thirds.

It all depends on the color of your cabinets, floor and furniture.

I like the yellow & green theme, however I personally would like a green tinge instead of the strong green that you have. The lighter green would contrast nicely with the dark door/frame and a lighter colour would make the room look larger & brighter.

Colour example.

Thanks for the suggestions. I figured the pink was there before the panelling. I would have prefered to replace the panelling with nice wainscoting, or at least take the paneling down and cut it down to a more reasonable size, but the house will probably be torn down in a few years anyway. Trying to keep cost to a minimum, just making it pleasant enough to live in.

it may just be the camera/monitor, but imo there's too much red in the tan for the green and tan to get along..
