What do you think of this monitor?

Is there a rebate on it? I heard there was but can't find it.
Right now there is free shipping, but I have to buy by tonight. There is also a $50 off coupon, and I have a $15 gift certificate. Is it worth it to get this if on a limited budget? Are there any others that you would reccomend over this monitor? Has anyone had experience with this monitor?
Any and all comments are appreciated!
Thanks :)

I'm using one now. It isn't perfect by any means, but for the price I'm very satisfied. Text is crystal clear! I cannot get an even border around the screen. The bottom appears slightly bowed. It is so slight that I sometimes think I'm imagining it.

The controls take some time to get used to and are overly complicated. Once you spend some time with the extensive manual that comes with it they can be mastered.

It puts out a lot less heat than the Mag 17 incher it replaced.

I'd buy another...

Thanks for the info. Does any one know if there is in fact a $30 rebate on this monitor?
Also, is this a flat screen?

Hey eyor,

We use the 955DF for our video card testing :) Its a great monitor in all aspects. The tube is a "DynaFlat" model, which is not a "True Flat" tube (but very close to it). There is a $30 off rebate, just check out samsung.com.

Yep it's a very solid monitor.

Eyor, HERE is a link to get it for only $309, and they have over 100 in stock right now.
They also have a direct link to get the rebate coupon too. :)

Direct link to rebate which lasts through December.

I've heard the 955DF to be a very good shadow mask, one of the best in fact. The only problem I would personally have with it is the slightly low refresh rates. For me on a 19", 1280x1024 is optimal. It says the optimal is 75hz at 1280x1024 though 80hz is the max according to Samsungmonitor.com. Also at 1600x1200 which is still usable on a 19" in my opinion is only 65hz (er 68hz max... whatever). Now for someone who doesn't use that high of resolution or simple is not bothered by low refresh rates, then is makes it even better! I don't think you will be disappointed though and as Tominator said, the text quality is amazing.

why do you have to buy tonight? is it a personal deal, cause on the amazon website it says that the free shipping deal is available until december 10. (see fine print through the amazon free shipping link)

I'm considering this one too, but was also looking at the CTX 19" Pr960F FD Trinitron Do you think this is worth the deal?
