Was thinking of getting it and was checking to see if anyone was having problems with it?

I don't have any problems with ZA Pro (from version 3) now running ZA Pro suite 6 (it comes with spyware and anti-virus built in).

I've used the free ZA for several years now. I never connect without it.

is there any way to just get the zone alarm firewall, without all the bundled stuff like antispyware?

Yes. All of those options can be turned on or off in the ZA Pro control center. I only use the firewall - the rest are off. No problem. I have other software that is better in each category. I basically do not like "suites" - they usually compromise things. There are top anti spyware/adware programs that are better - same with anti-virus programs.

Of course, the makers love suites - they want to own your system and your bucks. :)

I'm still using the free zone alarm firewall version 5. I remember several months ago when trying the earlier versions of 6, having tons of issues. Have the latest versions fix these problems?

the only experience i had with it was i think version 4. it was really annoying because it made popup notifications every 2 minutes. so i just dropped having a firewall for a long time, but now i have kaspersky anti-hacker. i dont think its the best, but i never get any popups.

Those alerts can be turned off in ZA Pro. In fact, it is so customizable you can exempt specific programs form being checked. Pop up alerts are not required.

Just installed ZoneAlarm Security Suite version:6.1.744.000 after trying Windows OneCare app. ZSS runs pretty smooth compared with OneCare.
