Doesn't look bad, but I'm not buying Ford again until they take that hideous Focus off the fvcking roads. That thing makes my stomach churn every time I look at it.

Similarly, the Scion xB instantly forced me to never own a Scion.

HAH! Good one.

Wow. Another "Camry-ish,Mazda-6-ish,New-Jetta-ish" Car.

All we own is Fords but I wouldn't drive this one. Yea it's cheap but goodness it looks like every other 4 door car under $20k. No originality.

where do you see new jetta in there at all?

and yes, it is based on the mazda6 platform, but it doesn't look much like it either

IN 2005 ABS BRAKES SHOULD NOT BE A $620.00 OPTION ON ANY CAR. :|

ABS causes more accidents than it prevents because people continue to pump their brakes like they've been doing the last 30 years of their lives. as long as such people exist ABS should be optional.

Disagreed. Pumping ABS brakes works exactly the same as pumping regular brakes. No difference. Thus, ABS should be standard on all cars so that people who know how to use it can just stomp and steer.

i've driven it, although just at lower speeds.

its pretty nice, nothing spectacular. i think the interior is pretty slick for a Ford though.

the headlights are almost as bad looking as those ghastly tail lights. Not a bad looking vehicle overall though, same motors as the Mazda 6, is that what this thing is under the skin?

EDIT-
and yes, it is based on the mazda6 platform, but it doesn't look much like it either
that answers that! :)

Yes. The Fusion/Milan/Zephyr are all based off the Mazda6.

The Zephyr, on the other hand, will be another in a long line of failed Fords.

yeh....the zephyr concept was cool. but the one that is going into production looks like a$$.

That is pretty slick, I've always liked it. Ford's concepts have always been waaaaaaaay better than the production models - like the Zephyr mentioned above, the Mustang concept, and the 427 Concept (what the Fusion's design is based on, the front end anyway)

I like the Fusion except for the ricer lights. It's a pretty slick sedan, I wouldn't mind test driving one when it comes out.

ABS breaks have an increased stopping distance over "regular" breaks. The advantage is that you maintain control while stopping, but some might prefer the potential to stop faster.

actually, i think the real lights look pretty good in person (and i hate euro tail lights)

the thing i was most impressed with was the stance of the vehicle. it just looks solid, not something you can say about a lot of cars in that price range.

but i do hate the front end, i think Ford has to be on crack if they think the fusion and 500 headlights/grille look nice.
