What Do You Think Of Secret Societies? Any Experience With Them?

My only experience with one was when I went to a theatre performance with a friend at our local Scottish Rite facility. The Scottish Rite are the new society that came from the Knights of Templar when they were driven out of Scotland by the King Of France.

Overall, the only thing I noticed about the whole experience was that the members had a ton of money (were all well-educated leaders in society). Also, in the theatre they had various knives suspended high from the ceiling hanging over the seats. I asked my friend what is was and he didn't know. It was kind of creepy watching a performance while the knives dangled by a thin string high over your head. I was nervous and found myself glancing up at them throughout the show.

Anybody else have any experiences or ideas why people form these secret societies? Anybody believe in the conspiracy theories about secret societies?

The History Channel just had a documentary on some Secret Societies but I missed most of it What I heard sounded cool though, I wanna be in one

I'd tell you everything I know, but then I'd have to kill you, slowly and painfully according to the rules of......oops, almost let it slip.

I saw the History Channel thing on secret societies, it was pretty interesting, although it didn't exactly give a lot of information.
