Here are the specs...Most is ordered besides the case, I need suggestions!

MSI K7T Pro2 ($123)
Duron 600 ($50)
Fop-32-1 + delta fan ($30)
Artic Silver ($15)
Quantum 30 GB Fireball Plus LM ($122.95 ? $30 rebate = $92.95)
128 MB Kingston PC133 Value ram ($70 - $20 mail in = $50)
Sony 8x4x32 CDRW ($130 ? 30 mail in = $100)
Voodoo 3 3k PCI (Have)
Generic 50x CD-ROM (Have)
Onboard sound
Sony Floppy Drive ($10)

Total: ~$471

Ok now the questions...Should I go ahead and get 128 more mb of kingston ram? or do you think that 128 mb is enough? I'm on a real budget now, but I want to do this the right way! Another major question is what case should I get, and where should I get it from Other than that, does anyone have any comments on this? Input is greatly appreciated. Oh and just so eveyrone knows, The Voodoo 3, Generic 50x and onboard sound will be the first things to be replaced (when I get a job!)

If I was in the position that you were I would go ahead and just buy some more cheap cheap memory. Probably just like you said 128M would do just fine. Get some cheap stuff but I would not get it off Pricewatch. I would get a little more quality/expensive than that. that's my 2 cents.

Ok what about the case though? I was going to get an Antec SX830 or whatever from Onvia for $80 shipped but they are now out of stock. I was also wondering what I would be able to get this Duron up to, they guy said he would guarentee it at 850, but I figured I could get more than that with my cooling. This is going to be LOUD, LOL! I'm going to have 4 case fans, the delta fan, the quantum i've heard is loud, and i may get a hd cooler. Oh well it'll be funny :b

If you want a cheap HD get a maxtor, there were some 45s in the hot deals forum.

The delta is LOUD just to let you know, I switched it for a sunon.

Make sure any case u decide on has a 300 Watt Power Supply and that it is quiet... My case has a noisy fan...my next one better be a whisper 2000...

lol quiet isn't my goal here, im worried about my neighbors complaining about the noise! LOL, Well I'd rather have speed/coolness then quiteness...I just ordered the Fong Kai FK-320 for ~$120 shipped...Got a few options on it too, shipping was like 20, added a few options too...this is one of the most expesensive parts of the computer, go figure. oh well at least its better than the compaq case im using now, one of the main reasons im upgrading :) well i cant wait, got all of them compents on the way, woo hoo!

Looks like a good setup... especially for the price!

You may not be so nonchalant about the loudness of your system after having to deal with it for a while. I thought it would be cool also to slap a ton 'o fans in my system (Addtronics 6890, 2 8mm fans in front, 9mm in back, 1 8mm fan on each side of drive cage, slotA vos32)... I turned that damn thing on and couldn't hear my speakers unless I cranked the volume WAY up... couldn't hear the damn TV either. My GOD it was loud. I'm telling you now, that FOP32 setup you are describing is going to be LOUD. You reach a point where more isn't necessarily better. I'd take quiet and just settle for a decent overclock. You should be able to get an extra 200MHz (or more) out of your Duron without overkill fans.

But hey, that's just me. I like to be able to hear my opponents sneaking around in UT/Quake and not the fans on my system :)

Good choice on the fongkai, what options did you get? I was about to order one I saw online for $120 shipped but that didn't include the metal handscrews in the back ($2), the exhaust duct ($5), and the rear fan ($5). I said screw it and went to microcenter and go it for $135 and it included all that stuff. Stupid online places try to rip you off like that.

I urge you again not to go with the delta, since you're getting a fongkai with a fan right above the cpu you won't need a delta.

yeah the delta is extremely loud, imagine having a vaccum cleaner sitting on your desk.

I have the sunon 60mm high output fan.
