Well I'm glad you two are working things out. Those are very good for her not having any formal training; she must have a lot of natural ability.

well, I just woke up (literally), I let the page load and then I went to watch tv and fell asleep for a half hour.

the pictures are great, especially for a self-portrait (how do you draw youself with your hands behind your back?)

I want your wife.

I like them.
IMHO - Looking at them, its interesting that the body is shared but the windows to the soul are obscured by a hat.... it conveys a feeling that the artist is holding back.

OMG, I hooked up with a woman who looked JUST like that a few months ago when I was visiting LA. She even had the little mole on her face. She said she was an aritst too! Must have just been a coincidence.

I like them too... I agree with Kassy.

It's like, you can have my body, but you can't touch my soul. Something I think many of us have felt at some time in our lives...

Glad to hear you two are working on things... you have a lovely family, and it is worth the effort.

Sad when realy talanted people are not allowed to learn and express themselves fully. Be as supportive as you can, she realy has a talent :)

Interesting observation kassy. I've become very fond of art over the last couple years, paintings in particular. It fascinates me to try to empathize with the artist.

I am trying to develop the cultured side of my personality , but I have a long long way to go :D.
I just know what I like and how it makes me feel.
If Mrs Shuxclams was feeling disjointed and protective of her inner self when she did her self portrait then she managed to convey it to an uncultured artistically challenged person and that says something about her ability as an artist.

That first painting is truly amazing. Very easily well worth the $950.
The second one isn't as good as the first one by far, but not bad.

The first one however is very very enrapturing. You just gaze and wonder about the person and what kind of a person they are etc and what it is they have to hide.

I bet your wife is a scorpio! :)

yeah, they need more work, but eh...

kassy has it right... and the paintings themselves portray a sort of "incomplete" feeling
