What do you think Nvidia will do about the 3GB VRAM requirement for 4K Netflix and edge?

Has there been an update on this? A software solution?
I want 4k for my HTPC and the Nvidia 1030 looks like the perfect card for the job except for that Netflix requirement.

There won't be a software solution. Get a card with 3GB of vram. Otherwise play content at lower resolution and you are set.

They'll probably just do what GPU makers have always done. They'll release a 1030 (or maybe 1020, it doesn't matter) with 4GB of DDR3 they found in a dumpster.

There are NUCs(and mini PCs) with integrated video which uses shared DDR3/DDR4 RAM that can play 4K video/streams.
