What do you think life will be like in 100 years?

I've often thought about the people who lived in the early 1900s. The photos of people who were alive back then looks so distant. Old. Ancient.

When humans who are living in the year 2100 look back at us, do you think they are going to say the same? Like...

"Look at that HUGE phone!"
"That is a Tesla? It looks so old."
"They used gas powered vehicles to get around?"
"Look at how funny they dressed."
"Why is that girl dancing on TikTok? What is TikTok?"

Will America be around in 100 years? Russia, or China?
If America is still standing, what do you think the makeup of the population will be?

We'll still be here, hooked up to ATOT on a virtual server via a meatspace-to-digital conversion routine, a la Johnny Depp's Transcendence:

Life will still be the same as it always has been, a series of complaints of how nothing happens quickly enough.

Organisms will cease to exist. All that will be left is a giant planetwide city not unlike Coruscant, covered with data centers running the grand simulation of life and our souls trapped in charged particles. New souls will be created through quantum spooky behavior when individuals decide to procreate in the simulation.

There will be two types of souls: ones who can never leave the simulation and others who are promoted to leave the simulation, to drive the robotic machinery and giant robots necessary to ensure that the data centers remain functional.

Even more inequality
The reintroduction of child labor
Resource wars incl water shortages
Climate change damaging many coastal cities
The rich live to 120+ but the poor struggle to make 70.

All the fun stuff. We'd probably have better phones though. That's important.

Wait like, 100 years from now, or today?

To me, in America, the core issue is:

1. Capitalism promotes growth, but also greed
2. Lobbyists from companies drive a lot of policy in politics through things like "donations"
3. Companies are primarily focused on short-term profits, regardless of economic inequality, environmental impact, etc.

So then we get all these crazy policies that are doing more harm than good in many instances! Which is really frustrating because sometimes it feels like we're in a pandemic or world-ending climate-change movie, where no one is listening to the scientists & everything is falling apart lol. Like the whole Ohio toxic train disaster fiasco with the ridiculous responses:

Yes, that's about the size of it.

Phones will either stop being handheld devices or they will remain the sizes they are now, you have to be able to handle it and it has to feel good while holding it, you can't do that if the phone is too small or too thin.
They could become something like google glasses though. (or like the futurama eyephone)

They might be confused about why there is a steering wheel in old cars but design wise it will just be out of current style maybe but it won't look "old" . It's like the cars of the 60-70 ies for us, they don't look old timey just different from the current style.

They will still have gas powered vehicles in 100 years, not new ones maybe and not personal cars, but public transportation especially long distance busses planes trains will not all be electric.

Clothes just as the cars will just be a different style. If you tell them that they are textiles that you had to put on they might freak out if we have nano tech "fabric" until then that you program from your pc/smartphone to look anyway you like (doubtful)

They will be watching tiktok and be like "that's how easy it was to get clicks back then? "

In 100 years? Is this after the aliens come to earth looking for a new food source? Aliens could have been watching us for thousands of years but only now do they realize the human race is pretty stupid, and pretty tasty too. Just like candy.
In 100 years we all could be living in caves and tunnels trying not to become BBQ. And it would probably serve us right, while they continue to serve us up.

Elon Musk and his Mars colony will warn us beforehand so we can prepare a welcoming committee for the tasty aliens :p

Too bad the Mars colony will perish. But most of those people are suicidal anyway.

Not exactly, it's a biased news source favored by far right Evangelicals in the US, it's run by Falun Gong, a Chinese culty offshoot of Christianity.

That sounds like the plot to a movie lol
