What do you think is the top cuisine in the world?

Of course this is near meaningless since cuisine is completely subjective. But not everything is relative. Most cuisines are objectively better than a Nambian tribe panfrying dayflies with just salt.

I don't wanna say Korean to be obvious (me). So, I wanted to be edgy and say Japanese, but what do you/I really know about their real everyday cuisine outside of sushi & udon? We don't know.

So, I'd like to actually say American. I genuinely think so, aside from fast food & fatty stuff we're laughed at for.

Our cuisine varies amazingly. We have Southern cookin', Louisianan, entire SMOKING culture, AND steak enterprise. I love my Korean food and KBBQ. But you just can't beat an all-american steak-cut slab of meat that's simply seared with amazing creation of sides. You got your lobster rolls, clam chowder, to genuine hamburgers. We dominate this sh1t. And this doesn't even cover the fusion subculture to other ethnic cuisines.

USA food ROCKS.

Japanese, and you don't need to tip either. Dedicating your entire life to only one thing and perfecting it at the expense of your own happiness is basically a religion over there.

If I had to pick a few individual dishes, I'd go with a perfect bowl of tonkotsu ramen, a really good cheeseburger like shake shack or higher, and Greek souvla with sides.

I had Shabu Shabu for the first time this week, and it was so amazingly awesomely good I need to try it again ASAP. I love good Ramen, and LOVE Japanese style steakhouses/Hibatchi grill places. The woman thinks Sushi is the bees knees, but, I'd rather fry that somafich up :)

India has about a million different cuisines, I LOVE south Indian styles of food. Friend from Chennai got me hooked on Andhra cuisine a few months ago and it's completely got me hooked. Chettinad cuisine is awesome. These aren't southern, but they are still Indian, or at least indian subcontinent so I have to mention them as well... Hyderabad style Briyani is great. I LOVE Nihari, but It could be considered Pakistani.

Of course I love Korean food. It is amazing and interesting. My favorite Korean BBQ place near the office is great at lunch time or after work. Kimchi is addictive (I especially love a spicy Radish Kimchi!), and i LOVE the pork belly, bulgogi, Kalbi, or any variety of Jeongol ... essentially, it's fantastic and IMO underrated.

Mexico has a hell of a lot more than just tacos, I love a good goat stew, and green enchiladas are out of this world. Al Pastor is godlike meat, essentially pork seasoned and cooked similar to donair from the mediterranean.

I love me some thai food, yellow curry, mussamun curry, anything with thai basil and thai peppers

How about Greek food, I LOVE some braised octopus!

Or what about Italians? The Sicilians have about 10000 different seafood dishes, Napoli has old school Pizza like none other, and that doesn't even cover the other 90% of the country.

How about the USA, we take everybody else's food and sometimes we are honest and faithful, but usually we are experimental, and perhaps a little arrogant.

Yea ... this is unpossible there's too much. Each day I have a different favorite.

That's awesome. I'll answer too.

1. A proper Korean BBQ with wooden charcoal and the enterprise of side dishes and stews that come with it. Also includes an ice cold buckwheat noodle soup. So I guess this is cheating by picking something that comes with 847 things.

2. Oh boy, you just have to take the American burger with fries + COKE. Facking GOD BLESS USA. This is an American contribution to the world.

3. Okay, with the 'musts' done, I can have fun with this. Hmm...oh SUSHI OR PHO??? Oh man I'm torn. I wanna say PHO... but then SUSHIIIIIIIIIII is amazing. It's like AH I CANT DECIDE. PHO can be mitigated by Korean stew above (hot liquid experience). AHHHHHH SUSHI!!! SCREW YOU FOR MAKING ME CHOOSE.

So, KBBQ, Burger, Sushi.

I'm going with Italian. Seafood, pasta, pizza, breads, meats, wine, olives, cured meats.

We all know French is the true top cuisine but most of us find it pretentious.

Actually I realize I don't even know what French is. I'm curiously ignorant to the supposedly top cuisine.

I only know duck confit. And what?? I don't even know. Oh Foie Gras. But they don't just eat these two all day.

Seriously I don't even know French cuisine. What are they?

hyper luxurious or hyper poor ingredients, usually drowned in butter. shit like this (black truffle / foie gras / filet mignon), aka tournedos rossini

I don't know a thing, but when I hear "French", I think lots of rich sauces, complex arrangements, and subtle flavors. Also pretentious. Take this with a pound of salt, but that's my impression. I suspect French "country fare" would be a bigger hit with me. I have simple tastes, and I'm not a foodie. Like the rest of my life; with food, I want you to get to the point, and state it clearly. I'm not so interested in subtleties.

The top cuisine in the world is certainly not Korean. I'd bet most Koreans living outside of Korea would agree.

My first thought was French but I'd probably have to go with Italian. Pizza is my favorite food, after all. And cannoli are freaking awesome.
