Hey Jude.

I've heard it's the most well known song in the world after Happy Birthday. I've traveled a good bit and know many foreigners, and I've never met someone who didn't know it. It got a good amount of play time in karaoke bars in Japan and South Korea when I was there.

I hate, hate, HATE that song :^D

From the plodding body, to the retardedly long outro, I can't switch the song fast enough when it comes up :^D

I remember at the time it came out either McCartney or Lennon or both admitting in an interview that the long, drawn out pace and repetition was done as a deliberate spoof and never meant to be taken seriously . . . but it was! :awe:

No way. Everyone liked his music while he was alive.

I gotta call BS on that.

I mean, I always liked his music, even as a little kid. But if I told someone that I liked MJ's music 5 or 10 years ago, i would've been laughed at. Now when I hear everyone proclaiming their love for his music, it pisses me off a little.

A good friend of mine that I went to school with used to hate MJ. When he died, he bought pretty much the entire collection of MJ music and now proclaims he's a fan.

I've never heard the song. I just looked it up on YouTube and I thought it was pretty good but they had better songs (Penny Lane, Nowhere Man etc).

Happy birthday

OP stated "non-ceremonial" song.

I'm thinking... Queen's "We Will Rock You". It's played all around the world at sporting events.

Or is that too much of a novelty? :hmm:

Otherwise, I would think Michael Jackson's Billie Jean or Beat It.

I know the Beatles' "Yesterday" is the most covered song, ever.

I still don't like his music :^P Even Jackson 5 I'm not that crazy about. He was talented, but I didn't really care for his sound.
I second you on this; I've always thought that Michael Jackson was vastly overrated.
Also, he went from an annoying kid to a boringly bland young adult to a truly creepy adult.
