One song that crosses all boundaries for race, generational, culture, economic, and international borders?

What is the most universally liked song in the world?

Post a YouTube video or something and tell me why.

I'll go first.......

I propose One Love by Bob Marley.

Liked all over the world and although the song is decades old, it's still "cool" by today's generation.

Amazing Grace - no link necessary.

Played by pipe bands, sung in black Baptist churches. Everybody knows that song.

It's gotta be a Michael Jackson song for true global appeal. I'd vote for Thriller. Looking past Jacko, there's Stayin' Alive, Jailhouse Rock (or Hound Dog, Heartbreak Hotel, Can't Help Falling in Love or several other Elvis songs), Wonderwall, I'll Always Love You, The Real Slim Shady, Isn't She Lovely, Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Yeah! etc.

(No links necessary for any of the songs above for obvious reasons)

Also, can't ignore the massive popularity of boybands, girlsbands, hip hop and this guy.

Music is subjective, generational and geographical.

My favorite song of all time is "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay" by Otis Redding, but that is due to life circumstances.

To each his own.

Music is subjective, generational and geographical.

The purpose of this thread is to prove there are songs that break that rule, which in general is true, and prove that certain forms of music and messages in music can appeal to vastly universal audiences.

Akon once said this about Michael Jackson: "The way he thinks ... some artists think regional, some think national, I was thinking international. He thinks planets. It's on another level."

I agree with him.
