What do you think is more important - Memory speed or CPU speed?

I am playing with overclocking my 2.8C system on my P2P800 mobo. I've given it a 10% overclock which is around 3.1Ghz (stable) but the system bumped the RAM down to 266 Dual Channel on its own. Do you think that it is better to leave it that way or run 2.8 with the ram at 400?

I'd say RAM at 400. P4s like having lots of memory bandwidth...so why would you keep your processor less happy?

there must be a way to keep your memory running @ 400, i'd say work on getting the mem working @ 400, at your oc speed. get the best of both worlds.

run your memory at 220 MHz if it can handle it, if it doesn't, run the memory at 354 MHz DDR and your CPU at 3.1 (using a 5:4 memory ratio). Look in the CPU & OC'ing forum for Duvie's and my results regarding this.
