What do you think is fair? Sharing a place for $2300 a month

2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Each room has a full bath but one room is bigger then the other.

So my cuzzin and her BF get the bigger room and i get the smaller room...how should we split this up?

Also everyone gets their own underground carport spot.

$1000 for ME?
$1300 for My cuzzin and her BF?

what do you guys think is far?

Split it even and if they don't agree tell them that one of them can share the room with you. Lets see the couple takes the offer.

I'd say you 300 / cousin 1000 / bf 1000
just cause you'll ahve to put up with their crap and their breakup whcih is inevitable since there will be some fight about the DAMN CUZZIN LIVIN WITH US!!!

Split it three ways... or if you want to be technical, measure out the sq footage of the place and see how much more room the bigger room has.

I would first decide how much is general living space worth to you guys [general living space = living room, kitchen, bathrooms] Say you decided on a price of X, then each of you will pay X/3 for general living space. Then you guys measure the rooms, the exact square foot. Say the 2 rooms combined are Y, so what you have to pay for your room would be:

(2300-X)/Y + (X/3)

Exactly. Offer to share the room with your cousin and let the bf sleep in his own room if he wants.

Whatever you do, don't let them talk you into paying more than 1/3 of the rent. That would be big BS.

Well me and my cousing decided to split the rent down the middle, and I would get the larger bedroom, while he would take the smaller one and get the carport, which he wanted to protect his car, while my car is old and already has some hail damage and whatnot.
Then again, we live in a 2bed/1bath duplex and pay $450 for the rent, total.

why would it be big BS? or how?

whoa i'm confused here. i'm in a similar situation and i have my own room, and the other two people share the other room. this is in a 2 bedroom apartment. our rent is $1390 per month, and i pay half and they split the other half. since i don't have a roomate, is this fair? i assumed at the time that since i don't have a roomate that this is fair, but now you guys are all saying i shouldn't be paying more than a 1/3 even though i don't have a roomate? should i demand to pay less?

half? are the rooms the same size? its too late for you to do anything now, since everything is agreed on, but you guys should have taken into account that there are 3 people sharing the living room, kitchen, etc instead of 4.

Since you have your own room and they are sharing a room (albeit the bigger one), $1400 for them and $900 for you seems fair.

I don't think it'd be fair to split it three ways, since there aren't three rooms.
