Just like (Correct me if i'm wrong) Andy Hui is Hongkongnese (Is that even a word?!) When Hongkong is a legal and official part of China?
Correct me if i'm wrong, but I believe that the US's official stance on Taiwan is one of it being part of China.. ofcourse.. Taiwan is split on this issue.. some wanna declare themselves Chinese, some wanna stay seperate, but hey..
Honestly, man, Taiwan has only existed as a seperate country for the last 60 or so years.. right?
China's been around forever..
Honestly I dunno what the heck I am. I'm an american who has half Chinese blood and can fluently speak and understand Chinese, but Taiwan dialect.. whew.. over here in China a neighbourhing *Cities* dialect is hard to understand...
Anyways, legally Taiwan is part of China if you took a democratic vote of recognition from all of the countries.. Taiwan is as much a seperate country as Hawaii is in the eyes of the mainlanders... I don't know what to think. Taiwan has a long long history before 1900 of being part of China and used to be a seperate province.
Could you imagine what would happen if Alaska declared independence? :Q And then setup a harddrive industry! :Q And say "These are alaskian made, no siree.... don't get us mixed up with the Americans. This is 100% made in Alaska. :Q
What you people need to learn is that country's borders change like the wind.. and you really shouldn't try to seperate a people by country.... more like Race. And in that sense, Taiwan people are reasonably genetically similar to mainland/hongkong people to make Kaieye's statement semi-reasonable.
And Kaieye, your absolutley wrong on America not having experience in the mobo market. How long has IBM made custom super computer mobos? How long has Tyan or Super Micro been around? Uh.. yeah...

I thought so.
And J@cko, do you have ties to Taiwan? It seems like your arderent defense of Via in another thread combined witih your agreement in this thread bout the Taiwan independence thingey inspite of the fact that America doesn't even recognize them as a seperate country would seem to tell me that you either sympathize with them wanting to be independent (Nothing wrong with that...) or you are genetically related to 'em.
