trouble shooting my MSI K8N neo4-F mobo.
the post error beep says that either my ram or gpu is not working (1 long, 2 short).
so i turn to the cool "D-Bracket" 4 LED troubleshooter signaler. through its series of blinks i see two discrepancies.
1) when doing the "memoery detection test" the series of LED's flicker about 8 times while i hear some "noise" from the mobo/HDD/or somewhere in the system. WOULD this flickering be considered "HANG"? in the manual it states
"Testing onboard memory size. The D-LED will hang if the memory module is damaged or not installed properly." so is this a hang, or does it simply take time for the system to test the memory and thats why it flickers (read on) MSI PAGE
2) but shortly after this possible hang, the system continues to post and the LED test continues but when the system/speaker gives an error BEEP the LED's are testing the GPU. so that gives me reason to think that it is a bad GPU that is keeping me from totally posting.....or at least from getting any signal to see the boot screen.
has anyone delt with this/similiar? ive tried moving ram around; built in/out of case; everything/nothing plugged in;
would bad ram (indicated from first posible hang) cause the system to not recognize my gpu?
i got everything from newegg, had some other DOA stuff and RMA'd it, its been a few weeks, dont want to have to wait longer.....
thanks for any help
