What do you think about Visiontek GeForce3 video Cards

I'm looking at buying a Visiontek GeForce3 Xtasy6564 TI200 64MB AGP Video Card. Is this a good video card? Or should I be spending my money on a different card.

Thanks

Visiontek is my favorite card maker 🙂
Excellent customer service (in the past at least)
I own the same card and have been happy with it (unfortunately mine doesnt o/c very well memory wise).

Visiontek makes ELSA's cards as well as Nvidia reference cards. Used to anyway.

I have the Visiontek GF3, I just bought the Visiontek GeForce3 Xtasy6564 TI200 64MB AGP Video Card yesteday for my son's computer.
It oc/just as fast and faster than my GF3 card. Great card for 150.00

I also have the 6564...Its a great card, but no s-video cable included and Visontek isn't very environmentally friendly with their packaging..

Their boxes are like 8 inches by 14 inches, way too big.

hey, they just started retail products about 3 months ago 🙂. they've always been oem, they just need time to adjust 😛

Speaking about their retail box size...

Unfortunately most Video card manufacturer's are guilty of this "oversized box" problem. Working at a retailer myself I can attest to the lack of need for this, as all it does is make my customers ask "Is this all I was supposed to get?" when they open the box 🙂

As for the quality of VisionTek, I like them a great deal. I've got two GeForce3 Ti500's from them in two seperate computers and they work great! If you're looking for a widely available Videocard, they are definately one of the easier to locate. Their service department from what my customers tell me is definately adaquate if not better. I don't think you'll go wrong with them.

Don't be cheap, go out and get your own s-video cable. Environmentally friendly? What does THAT have to do with the quality of a video card???

How is the 2D quality on these cards?

You don't buy a high end 3D card for 2D purposes...it looks good to me. It looks no different than the 2D on the Radeon LE I have.

I have both, the reg GF3 is faster than the TI 200, though oc/ing it produces the same results.
I prefer the reg GF3 on my system.
Will wait until next Nvidia release for an upgrade.

I have the regular GF3 (don't know the model number) It has regular VGA out and S-video out. Excellent card. It does what it's supposed to do. Been in two different mobos with no complaints or issues. What more can you ask for?

Oh, and it doubled my framerates as compared to my GF2GTS. 😀

I would buy another Visiontek product. That is how I rate a manufacturer; would I buy another product of theirs? The answer here is "yes, I would." 🙂

Well, I think it's better than my Creative GF2GTS...text is "darker" and less fuzzy. But, to be fair, I have never seen a "2D Text-only" card, like a Matrox on my system. Allegedly, Matrox makes the better 2D cards.

I'm a gamer...framerate is life. From what I've seen though, my 2D text at 1152 x 864 x 32 @ 100Hz is plenty sharp for me. I like it.

From my experience with geforce cards, which isn't all extensive, the brand name means little. Bottom line, the same chipset is on the card and they should all be good. However, visiontek does have great customer service, so they are a good choice.

I'm very sold on Vistiontek products. Bought four different Visiontek cards over the course of last year. More than satisified with performance and quality.
