Honestly, I don't think I would've spent the money on something like that. But that's just because I don't have a big disposable income right now. :p If I did, I'd think about doing the same thing.

Dude, it looks cool. Like others have said, it's a subtle touch but very effective. And the narrative that you did for it had me rolling. :D Nice job!

After looking carefully I can actually tell them apart. They look nice. They look much safer too as the turn signal is now Orange which stats show is better seen. Also they look brighter than the original. I would like too see the whole back end to compare to the whole back end you have of the before to see how they really look. If you like that is what matters.

you have to remove your bumper to change tailights?? Man...Honda really makes it hard for you guys!

I remember changing the driver-side headlight bulb on my friend's 97 Civic coupe, I had to relocate the power-steering resevior...and my hand could still barely go between the resevior and the headlight assembly to twist and pull the bulb out!

Why can't they just put more space for trivial things like this?

I know..that's why I said you have to remove bumper to change taillights and not bulbs.

Anyway this is the mod I did to my Maxima's tailights..only cost me $2 for material and a lot of hardwork.

Thanks for the comments guys~

NOBODY Can tell the difference!
I think 95% of people would think these are stock lights. So I agree. I mean, if someone told me their Accord lights changed... I would be thinking "what did they look like before"? I think only the Civic owners can tell a difference in these lights. These are not altezza lights, so I hope people don't call me ricers. People that want to make their car look better != Ricer. These are just Japan's Version of OEM taillights. The stock lights for US 2003 Civic have these lights with the orange turned into red.

Waste of money?
Waste? Yea, again, probably 95% of people would probably think so. I love my Civic but one thing I didn't like is the taillights. I love the way it looked like from the front, but the back just... I needed to change it. So for me I think $325 was okay... I thought maybe I should get a TV, monitor, cpu/mobo... but I can always sell the taillights for full price... I'll tell you, there was about 2 months of hesitating to get these since my gf, friends, brother, strangers, homeless.. all were telling me it's a waste of money.

Damn, you were ripped off on shipping
I had a choice of doing EMS or SAL shipping. EMS had tracking, insurance, air, and quick (I got it in 2 days from Japan). SAL was the opposite but about $20 cheaper. I checked on Lik-Sang, and they charge about $60 EMS for a PS2 shipment, so I figured, the shipping fee is legitimate. There was also a list on some Japanese site. So if you plan to order anything big from Japan, shipping will be expensive as $50-$75.

It's Interesting How...
The comments on here really differe from Civic Owners Forum - 2k1civic.com

I didn't have to take off the bumper, but it made things easier and I also wanted to clean the part between bumper and body.. I had some wax/polish between it.
If you don't remove bumper, you need to reach up to the screws from under the car.

I think they look nice. Not $335 nice (it's all relative though), but they are nice lights. They don't look cheap, and that good, because they're not.

Yeah your right. Hmmm...I htink the image is too big. Ah well, anyway the idea was to clear out the orange signal part of hte taillight..so it has a nice and clear red/clear look. The top half of hte tails are red, and hte bottom half are clear.

I am normally not a fan of changing tails (usually think stock looks better)

but those actually look pretty decent. that and the color of your car is nice too.

cheers!

HAHAHAHAHAH not.

If anyone has a mindset that fixing their car makes them get girls... they have some major growing up to do.

Some people like their car and want to make it look better. Some people want to impress their car buddies. Some people want to make it look better than other stocks. Some people modify their car to make their car faster. Some people just want to be different... the reason can be anything. Maybe there are people out there that modify their cars to get girls like you said.

I just liked the japanese tail lights more than the US version. Yes, enough to have it specially ordered.

Total of - $335
HOLY MOTHER OF CHRIST $335 to change something that wasn't broken, looks basically stock, and you can't even notice when driving and that nobody on the road would even THINK about giving a second look for?
