What do you think about a friend asking for work?

I had the slight problem of my friend asking me to send him all of my work.

This is for Unit piece of work in ICT that we are going to be examed on. We have had quite a while to do it. I have stayed in class in my frees and stayed in after school to study it in my own time. I have a friend thats asked me to send him all of my work for it. Some of it took me a very long time to do as its quite complicated. System Analysis work🙁

I said I didn't want to send it to him. Hes accepted it.

Normally I am not so bothered about Unit work that isn't going to be examed on but this one is. And this if it is too similar to my work could get me in a lot of trouble. We had to sign saying it was our own work etc etc.

You know the rest. What would you have done?

ps I'd feel bad giving it to him as I've spent so much time doing it myself, when i could have been outside having fun and not inside studying in to my own time.

Sounds like you answered your own question with your conscience intact. Good for you!

i would give it away if there wasn't a chance of getting in trouble... and maybe someday someone will do the same for me when i need the help..

Woulda done the exact same thing you did. I might have given it to the friend if it was a no risk situation.

likewise, I woulda given him my work if there wasn't a chance of getting in trouble ... maybe you can take the middle road and give him some hints?

I agree. Also LordSnailz, I like your sig. It's very similar to my Jack In the Crack meal plan: 1 Big Cheeseburger 0.99 + 2 tacos 0.99 + icewater 0.00 = $2 lunch! 🙂

screw him.............. Don't give him your work........... or maybe give him the work with all the wrong numbers 😉

Cheers,
Aquaman

But then you know much more than him. Make sure that both of you won't have any trouble with the instructor.
Once I gave my homework (a VHDL program) to a friend right before the class started, and this idiot let 5 other guys copied from me. At the end, the instructor gave 10/10 for this hw. But since there were 6 more ppl had the same solution (they were so lazy to change my program a little bit), therefore, to be fair, the instructor devided 10 points to 7 of us, i.e. I have 10/7 points for my hard work. 😀

lol my teacher did that already with some other work.

This teacher also notice that my friend let my other friend look at his work also. The teacher did comment about this to the both of them. This was also work for this Unit but early on in the project.

My friend he's accepted it and hes okay with it. I did spend a lot of my time doing this and the class hasn't bothered. Practice exam on Friday😀 WHOOPIE DO!

Lets hope I do alright....

1. Just b/c he's a friend does not mean he is entitled to ANYTHING. His method will be to cheat his way through life. Next he will be asking you to get him a job at the (future) company you work for, and he will be a bad reflection on YOU.
2.YOU could get kicked out of school for getting caught.

Slugs like this drag everybody else down who they work with in RL (real life), b/c everybody else has to work harder to pull this guy's weight.

And what kind of *real* friend would ask for something like this? Wrong kind of friend, IMNSHO!

I did something like that. I had a programming assignment, and I showed someone in the class (not exactly a friend though) my code by sending him the file with the code. Instead of doing his own work though, he copied my exact code, changed the name of a variable and turned it in. Needless to say, the teacher wasn't happy about it. I was lucky that he didn't make a really big deal of it though because I could have gotten into major trouble...😱
