I was watching the news the other day, and some fool from California was pissing and moaning because his electricity has gone up to 6.5 cents/kWh.

I live in Pittsburgh, and I pay a total of 12.58 cents/kWh, including fees ($60.38 total bill / 480 kWh used = $.1258). I'm wondering how many people pay more than I do.

Here in beautiful Palm Beach County we pay:

5.65 a month service charge (for nothing)
up to 750 KW .0422
over 750 .0522

+ .0293 fuel chare per Kw

You figure it out but I thought it was about the only bargain in Fl. until recently. Trying to raise it another 9% now so up 26% since Jan 2000.

Last bill 77.25 for 876 Kw.

My last bill pissed me off. I live alone in a 1-bedroom apartment and my total bill last month was $170, for electric only. I do not have a gas bill. Granted it was very cold this December for Texas, but I wasnt keeping the place that comfortable! Well I hope everyone else is having a better time with their bills. I paid it of course but was cussing under my breath the whole time.

Anyone else from California? With the current power crisis, I'm curious as to how many pay more than the normal rate here in the capital of the Rust Belt.
