Beer most of the time Becks, ST Paulie, Spaten, Warsteiner, Kirin sometimes Heineken. Vodka doubles, Mai Thais, Vodka Martini. I will also drink Gin Martinis with Beefeater or doubles of Chivas during lunches at work, if that what it takes to seal the deal.

at a bar... hmm... well it depends on the bar... i am a pub kinda guy. but pub or not, i usually just get beer.

at the local pubs my favorite beers are: Smithwicks and Grasshopper.
if i am at more of a mainstream bar I am forced into getting Export or Budweiser..

Water,

Somehow I am always the DD, plus alcohol and I do not get along very well. After 1 beer, my face turns red and my heartrate shoots up drastically.

Coke gives me heartburn now. So I stick with Water, coffee, or Tea.

A local place has great burgers. Usually I wash it down with a screwdriver or two max. I must have an ulcer or something because alcohol really messes up my stomach, same with anything acidic.

Going out on a limb here - are you Asian? I've got a lot of asian friends and they all turn redder than boiled lobster after one or two drinks ... just wondering if that's everyone or just my friends.

Nothing wrong with being the DD. Now, if you were one of those "sober @ssholes" ... "I don't need to drink to have fun!" "You're in a bar, b1tch. What else you gonna do?"

Actually, I am of Scottish and Irish blood, so I have no idea why this happens to me. And I am not one of those sober arseholes, I sit back drink my water, and have a good time. I had much rather see my friends drunk and home safe, than splattered all over 285. People drink and that's ok with me, if I did not have the reaction that I do, I would be a lush for 2 reasons:

I drink a lot of liquids very fast, I can consume 52 oz of H2O in less than 30 minutes and still want more. I drink about 6 52 oz mugs of water a day.

I LOVE the feeling of being buzzed, not sh!tfaced drunk, but well buzzed.

I usually go with a shot of jager dropped in a glass of redbull (jager bomb).

Before I had the reactions, I would drink a vodka shot with a beer chaser, only thing is, the vodka always got poured in the beer.

Boiler Makers were always good too.
