is it worth turning down the details?
I currently have 4850 and don't see the option for 1920x1200
Should I CF 4850s?

A single 4850 wont do 1920 maxed.

Even CF 4850 would be iffy.

But I'm curious as to why its not even an option for you in the game. It might be cause you're on a TV and a TV cant do 1920 X 1200, only 1920 X 1080....is 1080 an option for you?

Anand got 36 FPS with CF 4850s at 1920 X 1200. Settings were all at high with the shaders at very high.

So seriously, I don't know what you guys are talking about

Maybe crysis it won't, but everything else runs great

and Just FYI

2048x1536 = ~3 mil pixels
1920x1200 = ~2 mil pixels

so you are really confused or something

I think its YOU who is confused.

He specifically asked about Crysis, nothing else. Ergo I gave my input on him playing Crysis and nothing else. Of course CF 4850's can play anything at 1920 on high with decent framerates but he asked about Crysis.

From your signature it seems that you play on a 1080p LCD. If that's tthe case, then you are not going to see the option for 1900 x 1200 simply because your monitor (tv) does not support it.

sorry for the lack of info
My sceptre supports 1920x1080 but I currently hooked up SOYO 24" 1920x1200 to run crysis.
With my 4850 x1 it's running 1620x1050 at high setting with avg FPS of 25
For some odd reason 1920x1200 is not available under the setting.

My native res is 1920x1200

If i can run crysis at 35FPS with 1920x1200 CF 4850 high setting, i might grab one for CF

I really appreciate your help.

when I first installed and selected resolution, 1920 was not available, but for some odd reason, it was selected after few crashes during the setting of the resolution.
I switched back to 1600x resolution and now can't get back to 1920x
I still don't see the 1920 option...thanks in advance.

EDIT: I found the solution from google, scroll button on the side...will give it a try later when i get home.

All i need is about 25fps under 1920x, should i decrease the AA or details?

Crysis:Warhead will be out in less than a month and is supposed to run better than vanilla Crysis as they have been optimizing the engine. I would wait until then. Your system will likely play it just fine. They indicated they might go back and patch Crysis with the new optimizations at some point.

If they are patching crysis then maybe I'll play Mass effect until it gets fixed instead of buying another 4850
Thanks

Sorry, but crysis, all patched up, runs like ass at 1600-1200 on my overclocked 4850 no AA no AF at high settings. You'll need something better.

i tried running at 1600x1200 at 4xAA/no AA and runs like ass as well.
Hopefully they will do a patch with the expansion like shaq said.

I don't want to play at 20-25fps and ruin the experience of playing....rather just wait.

I had a 4850 to start out with and ran crysis at 1920x1200 on high with no settings and it was playable to me. Only lvl I really had trouble on was the last lvl on the carrier. Now that ran like crap.

I just stuck in a 4870 and so far im able to play on high with 4xaa using edge detect("free aa") haven't played all the way through it again to test it out completely though.
