Lol, now JD is bad.

IPA crowd strikes again.

You will never catch me saying it's bad. I simply don't like it. I like bourbon, I like scotch, I like straight whiskey, but I don't like JD. The methods they use simply do not create a flavor I find enjoyable.

I'd drink Jim Bean over JD. I'd drink Auchentoshan over either (a $40 scotch so really really cheap). Hell I'd drink that Auchentoshan over JW Blue.

Ice on the rocks, straight up, or original Coke for me on JD, but yeah I'd normally just get something else these days if going that route.

I don't think it makes a good Manhattan.

Sewage... When I pour it down the drain. Same with that Bombay sapphire stuff.

Kind of liked JD when I first tried it, then it became a chore to finish the bottle. Had to water it down heavily with orange juice or coke to make it remotely drinkable.

Nowadays, if I want to get wasted, I'll stick to rum.

Like any whiskey, I like it straight up with one of those big round whiskey ice cubes. They look cool, and don't dilute the whiskey as much.

If you have to mix it with something, then it is either bad whiskey or you shouldn't be drinking whiskey.

...maybe both.

I actually love Appleton Rum and haven't had it in a very long time.

Might be a this weekend thing 🙂

Seagrams VO used to be our short timers stuff in the Marines where I was at.

Crown Royal is pretty good I'd say, but I like VO better.

Haven't had that in a long time either, but if it's like it was 35 years ago, very drinkable.

Would prefer that or VO over Jack myself.

Same critters from a simliar place, but I still like VO.

I hate JD, but there are songs about Jack and Coke. Crown Royal is a totally different animal. For Canadian whisky it is good.

If you want to try a good and cheap rum try Kraken, it's spiced but not heavily so. The sweet spot is the half gallon @ ~$30
