I liked the fact that switching back and forth from exclusive mode (games etc) was quicker.
I liked the new desktop UI look and feel, it was cleaner, wasted less space and ran faster.
I liked the new task manager, just everything about the way it tracked performance and such was awesome.
I liked the taskbar went across multiple monitors.
I liked he speed of search from pressing start and searching to launching an app.
I liked the way they fixed the task bar pinned apps so I could pin cygwin on there without messing about.
I liked the tweaks they made to the network configuration interface that made things just a little more intuitive.
Didn't stop me finally giving up after 2 months of problems though. It is better in some ways, but its worse in a lot of others.
