I'm still deciding. My laptop was stolen a while back, and I'm looking for a replacement.

What do I look for in a laptop? I like them thin with really big ... screens. I don't mind if they have silicon in them, whatever they need to make them function properly. I just want it to treat me right and not constantly whine about how it has no power. I don't really care about its brain so much, and memory? I just want it to remember how to please me. Yeah, that's it. A thin, small brained, big screened temptress. Oh, and if she takes monthly payments that's a bonus.

I just bought the HP dm1z, waiting for it to ship. But I wanted something small, good battery life and have some ability to play older games or emulators and watch movies. My first personal mobile PC purchase, I hope I choosed wisely!

Magnetic Power Cord Connector (i.e. MAC)

I've lost too many laptops from power connectors getting loose from the mobo (rendering recharge and power draw ultimately useless).

It's called MagSafe.

I look for some fans, a motherboard, some RAM, maybe a Wi-Fi card. You know, typical laptop computer stuff.

I'm glad you like the MagSafe adapter, as do I but for the love of god it's Mac, not MAC it's not an acronym

It's called MagSafe.

and it's great until it randomly stops working... which has happened to me on my 2 macbook pro's and a 24 inch monitor.

Easy fix with applecare, but without apple care who knows...

I use these simple questions

Does it have an Apple logo?
Yes - Buy it.
No - Avoid it, it's not worth the money.

I have two laptops; one with a big screen that I bought through Dell, and a small form factor that is Lenovo. The Lenovo is an X200, small screen with a fingerprint reader. It's great for traveling, pretty light, but not very powerful. The Dell is bigger and clunky, but the screen is nicer so I use it if I am going somewhere and want to watch movies.

Cheap as possible, and no bigger than a 15" screen. Computers are disposable, especially laptops. Anything over $500 is a waste of money.
