What do you listen to when you work out?

Personally, I've been listening to the Rocky IV soundtrack--it has got to be one of the most inspirational soundtracks...hehe. I especially like the training montage track--that one keeps me going when I am running.

Well anyway, what do you listen to? I'm looking for any suggestions--particularly stuff that can "pump *clap* me up" (SNL style... eh bad one) or motivate me more while I lift--the Rocky soundtrack doesn't quite cut it for that.

edit: Names of specific albums would be great too. I'm not really looking to make compilations.

well if you're tired of the rocky classic 'eye of the tiger' then there's no hope for you.

i like rockin' out to "my generation," "the seeker," "pinball wizard," (all the who)

then there's "fool in the rain," "good times bad times," "ramble on" (zepplin)

and some pantera.

I'll have to agree with this one. Can't get to the radio at the gym where I go. Fortunately, it's usually Classic Rock, which is the kind of stuff I listen to anyway.

As a little side note, I'm with eber on the Rocky soundtrack. In general at least. There are some songs, for some reason, that can just really get me going. Which ones they are seems to change from time to time though.

old anthrax, megadeth, metallica, slayer, morphious, the accused, any good kick ass thrash pumping music works here

Cool. Thanks for the suggestions...thrash metal stuff sounds good to me.

BTW, heard on the radio (Howard Stern show) a couple weeks ago that Daniel Day Lewis worked out (to get in shape for Gangs of New York) to the latest Eminem CD to pump up/motivate him while working out because of all the anger and whatnot in that CD.

i listen to what i listen to at home, industrial rock. mostly fear factory, but some static x, type o negative, black label society, stone sour, mudvayne, in flames, slayer.. and some new bands that rock, ones called Cinder with a tune called 'Soul Creation' and the other is a band called Ra. all mixed onto my mp3 player. mostly the stuff i grew up too tho.. try coal chamber 'Loco'.. gets ya pumped every time!!!!

if you are looking for the most brutal aggressive music, its Meshuggah for you. If you dont like heavy metal to much but like something with a punk rock spin on it try Mindless Self Indulgence, they are very good.

lol, but gotta get this damn hernia fixed before i get back into the gym tho!
