What do you like/hate about your job?

Like - The people in my dept, pretty much unrestricted internet usage
Dislike - The pay is much lower than the average for my position, employee meetings disguised as parties

I also like that i can do whatever i want. I do not get checked on at all.
I hate the lack of females at work.
I hate that its a 40 minute drive in the morning and 1 hour at night.
I hate that it puts lots of miles on my car plus lots of gas.
I hate that we have crappy computers put together from spare parts.

like - people, hours, lack of responsibilities, pay, future pay, 100% grad school tuition
dislike - cant work overtime, can be relocated any day without warning

like - It's my first professional job. I can come and go as I please and don't have anyone looking over my shoulder.

hate - stupid HR policies, bureaucracy ....and the pay sucks

like - freedom, get my hands on a lot of different things to learn, no micromanaging at all, work from home everyday (sometimes that's not always good though)

hate - definitely the pay - they started me high but the raises they give everyone every year are teh suckness. 🙁 Oh and that laptop upgrade they've been promising me for over a year hasn't happened...

like - people I work with, cool understanding boss, pay

hate - the drive, the work (tired of QA and want to get back to being a BA), and the benefits aren't all that great

like - I handle a tier where most of the employees are nice to deal with
hate - I'm getting bored having to set up machines and fixing simple stuff

Our department isn't broken up into level 1 and level 2 support - we do everything at all levels, so even our router/wan/telecom guy has to install a keypad driver or setup a printer...

like: Recently hurt my back pretty bad my bosses have been paying me for months just for being there as it hurt too much to do anything else...that was pretty cool I thought..boring but cool.

Hate: Some people can drive you nuts, work with one woman that don't shut up from the time you get there till the time you leave..I have started wearing double hearing protection:Q

like - making my own schedule, working out of my home, taking time off when I want, having no one to report to daily, seeing all the cool houses, unlimited income potential.
dislike - morons at the bank, moron homeowners who think their house is worth way more than it is, driving 300 miles a day sometimes,

Like: everything but the commute
Dislike: the commute (45 miles each way)

The commute's not the job's fault; it's my choice to live in the boonies. But I work for a great company with (mostly) great people, great pay, etc. Lots of fun, lots of flexibility, etc.

Likes...Set my own hours most of the time and can work from home whenever need be.

Dislikes...Too much traveling lately

Hate: boss is a moron and has no clue what i do, or what it takes to do my job.
Love: I can goo off on the internet ALOT because my boss is a moron and has no clue what i do, or what it takes to do my job.
also the paycheck

Like: working with the datacenter's computers, people I work with
dislike: the bureaucracy, senseless meetings, forced "teamwork" for everything even including simple tasks when you just KNOW half the team members aren't there during working hours or simply don't care about getting things done in YOUR building.

Example of the nonsense:

me: This server has a virus, can I reboot it to remove the virus? The customer needs it ASAP
boss: Check with Jim, he'll be able to help you out.
me: This is a simple task, I can do it myself. They need it right away.
boss: no, you must wait for Jim's approval
me: ok, then I'll ask Jim
boss: he's on vacation and won't be back till next week. Defer the ticket until then.

Restaurant
like - okay money sometimes, easy work, potential to move up
dislike - sometimes can be tiring after doing it all day

Hotel
like - easy work, can do my homework, cool boss
dislike - little pay
