And then half an hour later you were worshiping the porcelain god, then half an hour after that you were passed out. Then hours later you had a horrible, horrible hangover.
I can take 10 shots now pretty easily, even within an hour and a half... but your first time drinking? There's gotta be part of the story you're leaving out
Hangovers, bah! Just drink alot of water, and have some food in your stomach, and you're good to go...
The short list of hard liquor that I like:

I've only met a few liquors I didnt like... this is the list of stuff I'll shoot, in no particular order:
Everclear (tastes like... FIRE, but it'll clear up your sinuses)
Bacardi 151
Black Bush
Bushmills
Jameson
Paddy's
Jager
Bacardi
Maker's Mark
Ancient Age ($9 for a fifth, tastes like Jack D, for a third of the price)
Absolut (all varieties)
Stoli (again, all varieties)
Johnnie Walker Black
Frangelico
Smirnoff
Jim Beam
Basically, the list is shorter if I list what I dont like:
Tequila - The stuff I've had just flat out sucks. Sure, it might improve if I bought the expensive stuff, but I'm in college, and $60+ for a bottle is out of what I like to spend. If there is any tequila out there that is actually smoother then 12yr old Glenfiddich, and less then $35, I'll try it. Until then, I'm forced to conclude tequila sucks
Wild Turkey 101 - I actually like the feeling of shooting Everclear. You feel declogged afterwards. Wild Turkey burns almost as bad, no good after-effects, its more expensive, and it made me puke 2 out of the 3 times I had it. I rarely puke, but thanks to getting a bottle of this stuff, I was blowing chunks all over.
Jack Daniels - This stuff is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced. My problem isnt with the drink, so much as the bill for the drink. Plus, I like the taste of Jim Beam better. Think of it this way, for $35, you can get either a fifth of JD, or a fifth of 12-yr old Glenfiddich, or three fifths of Ancient Age, or 2 fifths of Everclear.
Drink suggestion: Chocolate Cake
ingredients:
1 part Frangelico
1 part decent vodka
crushed ice
directions: Mix 1 part of frangelico with 1 part of vodka. Some prefer it more of a 55/45 frangelico/vodka mix. Stir in crushed ice. Let sit for 1 minute. Remove any remaining ice. Shoot it.
Chicks love this stuff. It tastes just like chocolate cake. It doesnt burn. Its about 60 proof or so. You just have to watch that you dont let them drink too much, or they'll puke and ruin your chances for the evening. Oh, the combined price for a liter of 80 proof Smirnoff and a liter of frangelico is $42, do its affordable.

Scotch Whiskey Don't care for most of the lowland malts, prefer speyside or most of the island varieties. Particularly like Bowmore 17, Macallan 12, Glenmorangie Port Wood, Talisker.
Rum A few of the smaller-batch rums are good neat. Mount Gay 12 year is excellent, as is Ron Barrilito (tho hard to find here in the states as PR doesn't seem to export it).

haven't met a shooter i haven't liked. bacardi 151, jager, rumplemintz, tequila (even the cheap stuff), jack, vodka (if you can find tito's get it, its awesome, and inexpensive)... oh wait i don't like gin that much. tastes like a forest.

I usually don't drink anything straight anymore, though in my younger days I liked high quality tequila like petron or don julio anejo. The only thing I drink straight now, is from a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue label I got as a gift.

I am definitely a bourbon lover. Baker's is probably my favorite, though I will have to try Hirsch 16 on Fausto's recommendation. Among more affordable Bourbons I like Wild Turkey 101, Maker's Mark and Old Granddad. I am a newbie to Scotch but love Glenfiddich Port Wood Finish. I like some dark rums as well, like Gosling's Black Rum.
the only things i like drinking straight are coronas, smirnoff ice, and skyy blue. everything else makes me sick.
