New York City Mayor Eric Adams should be everything the Left needs right now.

He's no-nonsense, tough-talking, moderate, lives in the inner city where a lot of Black men are turning into a swing vote, was a police officer in a notoriously racially suspect force where he has had no civilian complaints, he rose to the rank of Captain before he retired.

What do you have against him? He doesn't support police brutality like a lot of other black cops, trying to cape for their white friends in the force.

First of all, he never ran as a Republican, a Republican cannot win in NYC anymore unless they are like Giuliani without the baggage....
He registered as a Republican in the mid-90s because he felt the Democrats failed in the mid-90s on crime, housing, education.....he didn't like that Dems lost NYC to Giuliani in the 90s. He did it as a personal protest.

He's a moderate Democrat, always has been.

He is corrupt and bad at running the city, which is the primary job of any mayor. Really - just total incompetence.

Also he doesn’t live in the city, he lives in New Jersey. He just lied about living in the city.
 
I don't care if a politician is black or white, (R) or (D) or something else. He's under investigation for crimes, and if those have credible evidence that needs to play out. If found guilty then he needs to suffer the consequences.

I support Democrats in general but not when they are criminal scum like Bob Menendez for example, who needs to go yesterday.

It's really not rocket science, nor a matter of emotion or team ball. Politicians who abuse the office need to go. And yes that includes anyone who supported the Jan 6 overthrow attempt.

OP is playing the same game as "Orange man bad," where opposing a politician because they are corrupt, incompetent, or just downright contrary to American values is not allowed as "hate" or some similarly childish and dishonest notion.

It is literally all feels with that crowd.

Yes - my only real complaint against him is he's terrible at his job.

The fact that he lives in New Jersey and lied about it is really more funny than anything. I wouldn't care where he lived if he was competent.

I don't know, he seems to have some obsession with sucking police dick and is trying to convert everyone to worship the badge. He also has that weird obsession with celebrity, and I believe he's the guy that claimed to have been a longtime journalist, so he seems to be some Geraldo wannabe? Ultimately he's just another right wing clown honking his nose and demanding attention as he tries to whip people into a Joker-esque fervor.
 
The guy supports prayer in schools and is openly opposed to separation of church and state. He even said that if they allowed prayer in schools back in the 60's, we wouldn't have so much crime. That alone is more than atypical for democrats. It's just way out there.

While insane and stupid, I care less about that as NYC's mayor isn't going to make any policy in that regard.

I care a lot that he's terrible at actually running the city, which is his actual job.

He's a Black religious Democrat----he is what South Carolina Dems would select in a primary....the Dems are a big tent party, and Black guys like Adams are plenty in the Dem party...

I don't have an obsession with sucking cops' dick, I want people to realize they aren't going anywhere, the majority of white America favors the cops and likes the cops, even in liberal cities like LA and NYC, Chicago, the whites there adore them.....

How do you win against a majority of white Americans with that mindset, huh?

But there is still time from now til June 2025, when he will be on the ballot again.
People didn't like Bloomberg, Giuliani and de Blasio, and they still won reelection.
