What do you guys use for pest control in the yard?

Had termite guy come out and are getting the treatment/policy. I live in an area of Termite heaven...

anyway...i asked him what he uses for yard perimeter for general, including ants etc.

he uses permethrins....

what is good stuff that will last a bit that I can get a home depot and the like?

I have some concentrated diazanon left, but it does not seem to last very long after application?

Next to impossible for a homeowner to get rid of them. We don't have access to the chemicals.

I only have ants and spiders. Ants I am trying the over and out season-long stuff for this year. Up close to the house I use Demon WP in the immediate perimeter, and it seems decent. The problem with pest control is they want $30/month, and sorry I'm not paying a $7/hour high school drop out $30/month to come to my house a few times/year. I'd rather be eaten alive.

Check out the granular insecticides. They have permethrin, but when you consider that you can broadcast it over your entire yard, that's a good buffer zone. I use that along with an application of dursban around the foundation.

For termintes, I believe you can buy Premise and Termidor. Termidor is supposed to be much better. Or find some chlordane and you'll never have to worry about termites again.
