What do you guys think of www.extremetech.com?

Man, I was just about to post something on it. Guess you beat me there.
Anyway, my .02: Just the big corporate machines trying to capatialize on what the 'little' guys started for fun. Instead, the corporate machines are in it only for money ... so, I won't even click on there site to support there hit rates :disgust:

You got that right! ... Aces is the first page I see everytime I open up my browser

"Your 3-D card rivals the rest of the computer in sheer complexity. We'll show you where that awesome performance comes from as you follow the pixels on their amazing journey. So sit back and enjoy the ride, as we take you on a guided tour of a typical 3D card, its memory, bus interfaces, connectors, and chip plumbing itself."

Bah. 🙂

I don't think much of it.

A staff of 30 on a "grassroots" web site? I think not. Just the whole layout makes it look like a Ziff Davis site- especially the enormous ZCast ad on the right.

Me no likee. If I want homegrown tech info I'll head to Ace's- not read what looks like magazine articles or whatever.

It's just too...sterile and manufactured.

Well, we asked for a Highly Technical Forum here at AT, but obviously they don't want that kind of info around here, so i guess i will be spending more time at Aces and a little bit of time in ATOT..

Looks like an intro to a magazine article from PCWorld or PCGamer or something like that. Too manufactured...they are trying too hard.

I agree with everything posted so far. I mean, people who frequent anandtech, HardOCP, Tom's, or any of those sites are not interested in "Overclocking: What is it?" articles. People like Anand can just take it for granted we know all that stuff already. And if we don't we can always call up the archives. It's just a site with too much stuff in too little detail. And like someone said, they're too influnced by money. It's sort of like Blink 182 versus real punk bands or something like that.

Heh.. was surprised that no one actually did any post on it when it mentioned Anand in the title 😉

Same here dude. But somehow they just sell their names only anyway....

Ah yeah.... Very good point there. But aren't those articles "necessary" when a site is just starting out? ALthough there are tonnes of the similar articles around {g}

PCResources,

Hows the multiprocessing Athlon motherboard with Rambus memory coming along?

A nice start to a buggy site? 😀

Looks like it could have a lot of info...but it's damn near too crowded for me to pay much attention to anything, heh. I'll give it another shot in a few hours.

<< okay, i just saw another ad for extremetech on AT...this one's a little more obvious...

Eww... They HAD to use that particular article to make an ad...
