What do you guys think of Mass Effect

It's coming out around this November. I've never played a console RPG before, but from what I'm seeing it looks pretty amazing. The amount of dialog options and the interesting characters that you encounter make it the next big thing on the 360, and I especially love RPGs that are more Sci-Fi, rather than the typical fantasy setting.

I decided to get a 360 for two reasons: Gears of War and Mass Effect.

I have high hopes for this game. It looks amazing, and should be an excellent title given BioWare's track record. It promises to be an incredibly deep and long lasting experience, with plenty of incentive to play through multiple times to make new choices and uncover different story lines. Hopefully it will deliver.

If it's any good I'll be buying a Falcon 360 to play it. Other games too, but it's the tipping point for me.

Yeah I will go on record and say that

Bioware was purchased by a private equity firm after the release of Star Wars KoToR. Jade Empire (first game after the buyout), from what I have heard, does not live up to SW KoToR... let alone Baldur's Gate 2. Hopefully the trend will not continue with Mass Effect. Dragon Age, assuming that it is not canceled or "reinvented" as an action RPG by order of the private equity group, looks to be the most promising game in the foreseeable future.

I loved Jade Empire. It just depends on if you like the live-action fighting style or the more turn-based style in KOTOR imho.

Mass Effect being on the 360 was probably the main reason I chose MS over Sony this generation.
