What do you guys think of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles?

i just say the trailer on their website: Text

the game looks pretty good. the visual effects look amazing in the game. the only downside i see is that multiplayer playing is only possible with gbas.

I hope with Nintendo they can go back to making the real FFs... To me, it seems after FF7 they've lost their magic.

It provides yet another good reason to get a GBA. I find myself playing my GBA more and more due to the availability of great strategy and role playing games.

I hope it starts a movement of Final Fantasy back to Nintendo. FF games started to suck once Sony got hold of them.

In fact I wish the Playstation would just die. Not likely though. 😉

I never thought I would find someone that felt the same way about the PS. Wait, that didn't sound too gay did it? Seriously though, I know some people that really hate the FF series on the PS. Bring it back to the roots of the franchise. I also wish they would do something more mainstream with the Phantasy Star series as I'm not a big fan of the on-line feature.

Well has anyone actually bought Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicals yet??

my roomate has it, ive seen him play it some it looks pretty cool

and Chaotic42

FF IX, FFx and FFx-2 were all awsome for PS/PS2

What does your roommate say about the game so far? Although you have seen him play, it's still not as good of a review as someone who is actually playing it. =) No offense friend~

Sony pretty much has 0 say in anything Square related, so I don't see how the PS/PS2 affected the FF series at all. Its nintendo's fault that the FF series jumped brands anyways: They went cartridge based on the n64 instead of CD based.

he thinks its cool, and hge likes it, thats all i can tell you

I agree that it was MORONIC on NINTENDO's part to be cartridged based with the N64, and are being retarded with these mini-DVD discs....but they still make the best games IMHO.... getting back to the subject:

What are some other reviews by other ATOTERs? (I'm planning to buy this game soon)

mini dvd = harder to pirate and it decreases seek times.

i have nothing relevant to say except FFXI = biggest time waster ever. I've invested about 110 hours so far, which is almost as much as I did for FF7, and I've covered maybe 10% of the game.

Well I was thinking in terms of usefulness for watching DVD movies, etc... but those are good points!

You will be very disappointed if you are looking for "traditional" FF rpg elements in CC.

It is more action oriented and details as far as rpg features are lacking.

i was expecting that since it has the multiplayer aspect to it, so keeping the detailed rpg parts would cause huge slow downs in gameplay.

I saw the previews at the movies and I must be the only dumbass who thought it was going to be an actual movie. The animation/artwork was just...breathtaking.

I just picked it up today but I started on Metroid Zero mission first so It's gonna be awhile before I start on Crystal Chronicles.

I picked up a copy yesterday and while I haven't played it a great deal as of yet I find enjoyable. It is more action oriented than it is RPG but there are some RPG elements in it. The graphics and sound are very well done and make me wish yet again that Nintendo supported Dolby Digital or DTS. Guess I'll just have to live with Pro Logic II. I really like the menu designs, very well laid out and pretty easy to understand and navigate. Don't have any friends with GBAs currently so I can't comment on the multiplayer aspect although that looks to be fun. Wish they had allowed multiplayer with just the regular gamepads but unfortunately not. Overall a fun game just don't expect your traditional Final Fantasy game with this one although deviations from the norm aren't all bad.

From the reviews, it sounds like it'd be a lot of fun to play with friends. However, I'm at the age where, unless I start having kids, there won't be anyone playing multiplayer CC with me. No one I know likes video games anymore. 🙁
