The boy band.

but what about the beatles?
Just like the Rolling Stones, overrated

How can the Beatles (or the Stones) be overrated? I can't think of a band that has been more influential for the past 30+ years than the Beatles. They may have started as a "boy band" but they also became one of the greatest and best selling acts in MUSIC HISTORY.

Someone calling the Beatles overrated. That may be the most ignorant statement I have ever heard.

I think most modern day conveniences have contributed in some way as an improvement. At the very least, we are living longer.

However, there are a few I could do without. Credit cards are a prime example. I would be much better off now if I'd never filled out the first app I received in college.

television...which leads to all of the following ailments

pop culture (from elvis to one strap tank tops)
anime/pokemon
saturation advertising
physical 'perfection' at whatever cost
mtv it's-cool-to-be-spoon-fed-mindset
the national morbid media- pessimism and paranoia 24/7, now in HD and CC to make sure you hate the world
babysitter-enriching our kids with all of the above in their formative years

I don't know if this is an invention. But the cubicle is a pretty stupid invention. I wish we could do away with cubicles and have an open office enviroment.
