I guess you could try it. Maybe change the text color to to something more blackish.

i think it the font color needs more contrast with the background.

i also think it render funny in my browser.

i think one of those is probably the reason why.

Suggest

1)you use a "chalk" or other softer background, and

2) go ahead with blue, but make it much darker, like navy blue.
