What do you guys think about my fish tank?

Yeah kinda dumb to have a tank and sump that size and not have saltwater. Then I looked at the rest of the room and seen there are much bigger issues to take care of first.

i used to have a 150 gallon salt water tank. I didn't invest in enough live sand and live rock though. Became too much of a pita to clean.

Are those Arawana? And how many? How big is that tank? Is that tank over populated? EDIT: is that a ray at the bottom center?

I had a 125 gallong fresh water. I got sick of it after my first big algae bloom. I now havea 20 gallon and could not be happier. Also, those big tanks are big bucks. The filter is on 24-7 and probably costs $50/month in electricity. Water changes once a week at 1-2 hours each. I do not miss the time spent on it and money lost.

Saltwater fish are MUCH nicer...more colorful, usually more active, and, much more expensive.

HOWEVER, there are some very nice freshwater fish as well...but IMO, the ones in that tank aren't. (I've never understood the Asian fascination with arowanas or anyone's fascination with oscars or the other "big" New World cichlids.)

With that big wet-dry filter, (horrible for reef tanks) I'd either convert it to an equipment sump for a reef, OR, just use it as a "fish only" tank and have a sohal tang and clown trigger. (but I suspect the sohal would kill the clown)
