Hmm, weird.

Never mind :)

Notice the 0.9 ms seek, thats one thing I get out of a 5 disk array !

Interesting; so far, there's not a massive difference between all the drives- at least, when excluding the SCSI setups.

Guys, one request: when you run your benchmarks, could you please use Save Results, and grab the resulting file from the HDTach program files directory and store it somewhere? I hope to compile these all together at some point and offer them up as an archive for comparative purposes :)

Cheers!

HD tach is a worthless real-life comparison too. It is useful in order to check your configuration though.

Agreed, but it's a useful tool for testing interface transfer rates, and it's also very simple for people to use. Finding and installing ATTO is a bit more difficult, yet the results are more useful.

Shoo, troll.

at least I know where to post...

Hush, I'm drumming up support before it gets moved to GH :p

BTW why just why HDTACH?

Because it's easy for people to run, fairly quick, and easy to find, unlike ATTO.
Do you have a suggestion for a better benchmark? :)

hdtach sucks. there is no way I am gettign 120MB/s off of a single drive

It used to be good back in the day for slower drives but not these days
