What do you guys do if you don't celebrate Christmas?

My family doesn't celebrate Christmas. My parents also don't have any close friends that they ever spend time with. No gift giving. No gifts. No tree. No big dinner. One week vacation. I'm their only child so I feel I have to stay home with them.

We don't do anything. My mom sits in front of the computer. My dad sleeps and sometimes tries to give ideas of what to do when I askn "what are we going to do this next week?" which literally result in him replying, "Let's go out(side)" (note the lack of a "where" and an activity).

When I ask "where" it's usually something like "Walmart? Amish country? Giant Eagle (grocery store), *silence* "

What we eventually end up doing is Dad sleeps, Mom goes on the internet, occassionally coming downstairs and telling me to stop wasting time, and I sit and read photo sites or read ahead for next semester's classes.

Wee.

I used to work, but I'm salary at a government contractor now, so I guess I'll have to suck it up and spend time with the family.

Go do something on your own. The roads shouldn't be too bad, maybe go looking for good places to take pictures. Place you've never considered before.

Watch TV and maybe go to a restaurant. This year we didn't even set up any lights so didn't even felt like Christmas at all. That and the damn sun is still out.

we usually do celebrate christmas, I have a big family about 3 hours away. This time we are staying home recuperating. My wife had a hernia repair Monday, and I got the stomach flu at the hospital picking her up Tuesday. I'll be around🙂

Having a photographer wander around three stories of family members sounds like it could save alot of time. Do you work for food? 🙂

Normally I would celebrate christmas with family, but this year is an exception. I moved out on my own (well I do have roommates, so not really on my own) the week prior to Christmas. They all got me gifts, but I declined as I'm really not into it this year, and besides drinking away I haven't done jack at all after coming home. Absolutely down in the dumps, no motivation for anything. No material gift would make me happy this year, so I asked them to save it for next year instead.

Christmas and New Year probably drinking, drinking, and some more drinking. Maybe a steak or two. Otherwise it's simply another day not worthy of remembering.

I take off all of my clothes run through the streets screaming at the top of my lungs until the cops show up.

At this time, I would work for some friendly companionship, some cuddles from the girlie-poofs, and strawberries 🙂

Why are you down in the dumps? I would be thrilled at being on my own.
