Mine's the single front disc version...didn't know they even made a dual, though that would surely be nice. Single disc does a good enough job of stopping, but you can never go wrong with two of em :)

I do admit that I love the engine in this thing, though. Might only have half the horsepower of the current 600's out there, but because it's a twin, it's torque numbers sure are nice for the size.

Edit: and to the above post, the gixxer 750 is a great bike. The only model I'd take over it in that same engine category is the ducati 748/749...and come on, let's face it, who wouldn't want a Ducati?

My current goal is to work towards the '03 Ninja ZX-6R, though.

Man, the ducati 748/996/998 are probably the best looking bikes ever made. But, they can't even compete with any of the jap bikes performance wise.

The new 749/999 are ugly as hell too.

Your lack of basic english skills amuse me. I drive a 95 Acura Integra. Dont' ruin the import enthusiast crowd's name by acting so stupid.

Don't worry, Millennium drives a mustang.

And I have a firm grasp of the English Language.

You really don't. "A honda civic that is faster and more reliable than a rustang"
Is correct.

I omitted a word. That is a typo and has nothing to do with my grasp of the English Language. If you notice you had a typo in your post as well. Dont' should have been written as Don't.

Busted. ;)

Performance are not only the top speed , but also torque and handling.
Jap are good for driving on a straight road but for twisted road Ducati are the best (honda tried to compete with the VTR1000 SP2).

About 749/999 .... looking is not so important when you drive a 749/999

the jap bikes carve it up equal to if not better than the ducatis acording to the bike mags i read...

and if looking is not important on a 749/999, and its performance is lacking, what is so great about it? 6 letters? paying way too much for sub par performance?

I'm embarressed to say what I drive so I won't say it :(

Yeah I used to have a 99 cobra vert, but the engine blew so I had to let her go. Still got 12K for the trade in for the 03 coupe.

I have a 2.75" pulley, 100mm idler, chip and CAI. A grand total of 700 bucks and I'm in the 11's ;)

btw, nitrous pete has since then switched to the kenney bell blower, and is in teh 9's on the stock IRS which is unbelievable.

Thanks from the props, I pay out of my ass for it :)

2003 Acura TL Type S

Got some basic mods, car ran a 15.0 flat this spring w/no mods and a 30-40mph wind against the track.. No the car isn't fast compared to the '03 Cobra or a lot of other cars, just having some fun is all!

Damn.....what'd you do to the engine to blow it? The 4.6's were usually pretty damn reliable. I don't know if Factory Tech makes them for the Cobras but their Valve Bodies do wonders for low end oomph for the Lightnings. Might be worth looking into. Is the 100mm idler the same as a 85/90mm MAF but bigger?

your car is awesome adn it is fast. A friend of mine has the Acura 3.2CL Type-S, and runs consistent mid 14's at the track. That is defintily one quick car and I would love to have it, or the RSX-S as a daily driver. Now that would be my dream, the cobra for a weekend car and the acura for a daily driver, well actualyl my dream would be to have a Sti or Evo as a daily driver, but the acura is just as good. If you couldn;t tell already, I'm a huge fan of Acura...

The engine blew because of a bad tune, too much timing and it went boom. That coupled with the fact that the 4.6 have an inherent Oil problem. But it was a blessing in diguise...look at what I have now.

The 100mm idler is not a MAF meter. There two entirely differnet things. The thing is when you put such a small pulley on (2.75 compared to the 3.60 stock) you tend to get a ton of belt slip robbing you of boost. Now a fix for that is to get a 1/2 shorter belt and add a 100mm idler (just adding another pulley to the belt system). That way the wrap is much much tighter but not too tight. Before the idler I would rarely see 15psi of boost after 5k. But now I have 14-15psi of boost all the way up to 7K.

Here's a pic of the idler system that is similar to my car:

The idler is the bigger silver thing to the middle/right.

1984 Cadi Eldorado Biarritz BABY! yeah!
Get this though, it sat in a driveway for about 6 years. It has 94,000+ miles on it. :Q.
IT overheats like a mother, so I can't take it up hills when the sun is out. Seriously. It has the original coat of paint that used to look good, until it sat in the sun for about 8 years. Huge cracks in the paint, rusted... bah. I do like how it drives like a boat. When you are going to the beach, just nothing like it. It floats. It has this giant steering wheel so it turns so smooth. I like that. I can almost lay down flat in the drivers seat. It has the classic Cadi back seat (HUGE).

EDIT: This car looks kinda like mine. Only it has a nice paint job, and isn't blue. Think this car + 8 years of sun/rain.

Sonic Blue 2003 Cobra.

All I have is the Magnaflow Catback(stock h-pipe), Steeda CAI, and Steeda triax shifter. I should be putting down @400rwhp just with those mods. I'd get the chip and pulley but I dont run it hard enough to justify. Check out SVTPerfromance.com if you haven't already. It's got more info on the Cobra than anyone would ever need to know.

it wasnt mine originally-so its not THAT bad. its actually my brother's right now. hes going to give it to me when i can drive (and drive manual), because the last time i tried, i cant seem to get it going. kept killing the engine starting into 1st gear. heh heh. but yea, im probably taking the exam with my mum's '03 accord, its auto transmission so it should be easier to pass with. the cool thing about driving the s2000 id the convertibleness :D. and its also quite fast (i went in rides in it with my brother and dad many times). only complaint i have is ow...it sure is bumpy!

as for having a sports car as my first car. my parents want him to give it to me, because they want him to stop borrowing my dad's camry to go snowboarding and stuff. and plus, they want to save $$$, so rather then buying a new car, i just take it. and the reason why my parents dont want it, is because they hate his car. its too bumpy and loud...my dad's an old man

edit: btw. should be getting my license in a few months. (still need to wait until 15 1/2 to get license) any advice from anyone for taking the exam? i heard its scary and the guy pressures you.

i'm the same person over there :) I live on that site as much as I do on anandtech :)

I jsut ordered a steeda tri-ax, bassani catback, and vrs catted x-pipe. With those additions I shoudl see my 500/500, or be near it. Next on order are some d/r, billetflow single-blade throttle body, and suspension.

I have a 1989 Cavalier Z24 and a 1994 Saturn SW2. Saving up for a early 90's Acura NSX :)
