1) Mail them back to HP (don't really wanna, I rather do 2) )

2) Give them to the company that supplies our Toner/Cartidge. They seems to be eager to take them from us. And since they do delivery anyway, they can come pick the used one up too. No hassle.

3) Mail them to some recycling company. I signed up with empties4cash.com but they don't accept Laser Toner, only inkjet cartidge. So where else could I go?

We get our printer equipment from a freelancer and he takes the empty laser toner cartridges back. We don't get money for them but at least we don't have to deal with their disposal and we know they'll be recycled or disposed properly. (And since this is a private household we won't complain for sure :))

I think companies collect ink cartridges because refilling them is lucrative for third parties, but nowadays many are protected by patented technological "improvements". The business model behind laser printers is different, therefor there's no demand for empty toner cartridges.

Doesn't Office Max or Depot allow you to turn one cartridge in per day, in exchange for a ream of paper...?

Take them back to Staples for recycling. You get $3 store credit ($3 off $3 purchase... and you can use 3 per transaction). They will take Lexmark, Dell, and HP toner and ink carts.
