What do you do with your spare time?

So, lately I've just been visiting a handful of sites over and over and over and over and over and over hoping that there is some new, small bit of information to read. Usually insignificant.

I am in my last year of undergrad (came back for an extra year), but I don't have a full schedule so I'm not busy enough to avoid complete boredom, but too busy/committed to do anything cool like start a career, or travel the world (which I did this summer, and I think is part of my problem).

I have a part-time job, but usually only work nights/weekends.

I'm going stir-crazy here! I'm too talented to just waste my days surfing the web but have no productive outlet. One day I'd like to start a business, but can't commit to that yet because I've got school/work, not to mention I don't have a business idea...

What are you guys doing?!

I'm in the exact same situation as you, down to traveling over the summer. I bought a plane ticket to New Zealand and will be picking fruit there in January. That is the best I could come up with, let me know if you think of something better.

OMG - do not go to New Zealand. You will hate your life as soon as you get back home, it is so amazing/beautiful. I spent four weeks there this summer and there isn't a day that goes by that I wish I was still there.

So far, I'm working on going to Ireland to volunteer then do a Eurotrip - but that won't be until I finish school which is at least 5 months away... :(

I don't know what being bored is like, but I would read some books that would benefit you. I have enjoyed the marketing books from John Spoelstra, but there's a whole sleugh of books and websites you can visit to read. I am working on my own photography business and have a couple photography books that I've borrowed from friends, but I bought a bunch of marketing and business books...they'll surely benefit you no matter what venture you start. :)

I read and read and read and read and read various photography forums and websites online. I suggest you do the same about whatever you're passionate about and maybe you can get some ideas stirring. In addition to business books, you may want to check out finance stuff and look up local state tax laws and programs to see what type of business you want to start and how the different programs can work for (or against) you in various scenarios.

Best of luck!

This. Read anything, whether it be literature or something you're not too familiar with. You never know what ideas that might give you. Learning to think in new ways and expanding your mind is important especially in business. It's cheap, and you can learn a lot.

Also, does your school charge you by the credit? I pay a flat rate every semester whether I take 2 or 6 classes. If that's the case, you might as well take more classes.

LOL. I'd like to go back next year but not for less than 3 months - last time was too short to really get back into the flow of NZ life.

That's why God made female, so she can look after the kid at home while you're out having fun and doing your thing.

I haven't been bored since I was around 11 or 12 and my parents controlled what I did. That was about 20 years ago.

Hobbies man. Find a chick or buy a gaming console, start a Nigerian scamming ring, rob a bank, get a pet monkey, or kill homeless people and sell their organs on Craig's List.

Do at least two of these things in the next two weeks and I assure you that your boredom will be cured.

Good luck!
