what do you do with your dual monitor setup? (or what would u do if u had a dual monitor setup)

When I had two CRTs side-by-side, the only interference I noticed was that when I turned one on (and it proceeded to automatically degauss), the image on the other one would wiggle a bit on its own, as if it were degaussing itself too. I never noticed any other problems aside from that one. And AFAIK, the monitors would not be permanently messed up; the symptoms would only occur while the two were together.

alright, im getting my new monitor soon. and if they do interfere with each other, what could i put in between em to stop it?

I have three monitors side by side and they do not interfere with each other.

Lots of desktop space rules!

I run Outlook and IRC maximized on the two 17" monitors. The center monitor, the 19" has one or more browsers, and sometimes the picture from my tv tuner card.

Remember, most games in full screen more and tv tuners only work with the primary display.

I have two 17" monitors that barely interfere with each other at all. If you want to you can mess around with the refresh frequencies in the advanced settings of the video cards. I found that putting one on a high refresh rate and one on a low refresh rate worked the best for me. Also, you could probably put some sort of antistatic bag in between the monitors to stop interference. I thought about doing this, but I don't even notice it anymore because I put the resolution up higher......Hope this helps!

ok so, if im getting an r9700 (pro maybe) in my agp slot for my first monitor, which cheap card should i get for my second monitor? (im assuming its gotta be pci)

4 monitors here and I use the upper 2 for e-mail,Yahoo,AOL,MSchat) and proggie transfers(ie.encoding, dowloading,) when on and the bottom 2 for Web Browsers,MM Prog.(ie Screen Displays,DVDPlayback)...

As far as a 2nd PCI Vid card go for good 2d one(i.e.Matrox, ATI,3DFX)

Here at work I keep my support tickets open on the 17" monitor and then do the actual work on the 21". It keeps me from having to shuffle windows to lookup a username or something on the ticket and then go back to working on it.

It just provides a ton more real estate on your desktop to work with.

The side of a computer case has been reported to work very well if you slide it between the two if you start having problems. The EMI shield should block just about everything going between the two monitors.

LED has posted pics of his quad monitor system in the past, but they just show his desktop with the monitors on it. Maybe he would link to that, or even post a screenshot.

Well, i have 2 computers. One with an LCD that i use for web browsing and text reading... and another with a sweet monitor for gaming. And yes, i normally game (i play MMORPG) and browse the web with the other computer. But dual monitors on a single system is sweet... you can browse with 2 windows open (which is awesome). I would have dual LCD if there were dual DVI videocards.

The Pic was with 5 trial monitors which worked fine and I have since replaced them with a Dell LCD 18" and 3 Larger Ones which I have added, replaced and have had up to 8 Monitors going @ once with a 32" and 60" Screen located at The Studio ...just to many to chose

The magnetic field falls of with the square of distance. If you get any interference just move the monitors apart a bit. Usually just an inch or two does the trick. It's probably a healthy idea to turn on monitor off when you degause the other, but it's not that big of a deal.
