what do you do with old computer?

Hi, I got an old computer sitting in my room for 3 years but I am moving out this month. So what should I do to get rid of it? I have no intend to keep it..do I just dump it in the garbage can? or any better idea?

how does that work? the goodwill and the gradeschool?
And the computer is not fully functionable....it lacks HD, memory and 3.5 floppy drive.
It's really of no use to me now, any better suggestion?

It's cyrix PR166 (133mhz), Intel motherboard (not sure which)..Cirrus logic video card..sound card....modem....case...5.25" floppy drive....14" monitor.....that's it.

take it apart. then break all the little pieces off the mobo and throw it out. I think that ibm recycles them or some company does so you could try recycling it.

You know, it doesn't sound like a lot, but sometimes those machines with an old version of Netscape are good for older folks who don't need a computer for much more than basic web browsing and e-mail. Maybe you could contact some senior's center and see if they'll take it, once you refurb it of course.

impossible. i have all these hidden stashes lost in with my system files that i lose track of.

Try donating it. I don't suggest you sell it, the value is not very high (shipping will cost more) and packing it will be a pain. Plus you have to deal with the idiots who will badger you for technical support, such as asking you why they can't install Win2k on this machine. Most places should accept it -- just tell them it's a P100 class machine.
