u should buy digital piano andf learn piano guitar is lame
Any rube can sit down at a piano and bang keys, boom, notes come out. You can't just pick up a guitar and produce meaningful notes.

Wrong. Wrong. wrong. I really want to write a bible and explain but I really am tired. You can flick the threads and produce sound and boom notes come out.

Are you planing to play and sing or finger pick?

I was in a relationship with a pianist for thirteen years. We spent a good bit of time playing music together.
FYI: they're "strings", not threads. It's not a bloody pair of pajamas.
And I'm right. It's much, much easier to play something that sounds like music on a piano than it is on a guitar (for someone with no experience).

I started learning guitar. So I annoy my family by walking around the house and playing the handful of songs I can fumble through

I get the learning guitar part. And I get annoying people when you play Home on the Range three hundred times in a row. But I don't get purposely moving around the house to do so.

Those sneaky family members like to try and hide. I aim for maximum annoyance.

What happened lol

Sure but learning curve wise the Piano is much harder. The Piano is prettier to the ear. What made you decide to learn the Guitar? Guitar is very cliche when you see someone bust out a guitar and start playing people are like 'wow not another ed sheran wananable x factor bullsheet' LOL

If I was you I learn finger picking. :)

Piano is much easier to play something that soungs like music?
Well I can confirm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J---aiyznGQ

It's a long, sad story.

I don't know that I'd consider one harder than the other to learn, they're different disciplines. I just fell ass-backwards into it since it was offered as a class in my high school. I started playing guitar when Ed Sheeran was still in diapers, so meh :p
I already do finger-picking (well, generally hybrid picking, but six of one, a half dozen of the other), and sing acceptably while doing so.

I'm sorry to hear lol.

Why not learn Piano for fun? If you can read guitar sheet music then it should be a tad easier to read Piano sheets. :)

Mostly classical guitarists read sheet music, I'm the kind that uses lyric sheets with chord names written on them, and occasionally tablature. I haven't sight-read in forever (and we never learn bass clef because we're not bass players).
Instead I learned mandolin as well, and now I'm working on Irish bouzouki.
Besides, my kid is already a pretty good piano player :D

I never understood how people can get borded. There is always something to do. Always. I'll admit most of it is work (usually maintenance) but alas, I never run out of ideas.

I never have nothing to do. But I'm often unmotivated to do the things I need/want to do. I am sometimes bored, but not often intensely bored, usually mildly.

Things I do if I'm unmotivated: listen to music, read the newspaper, read books, maybe watch a movie. One thing I do regularly is go to the gym where I have an elaborate choreographed routine that includes strengthening and stretching exercises. This helps me stay on an even keel. The endorphins produced are remarkably mood elevating.

We just found piano teachers in the area and did lessons for a few years, until they couldn't go any further.
The kid does a pretty solid Rondo Alla Turca, and probably even better at Moonlight Sonata. Working on a Chopin piece now (Raindrop Prelude, I think). Also working on blues riffs

It's a little sloppy, but I think by the end of summer break it should be tightened up a bit.
No way 3rd movement is insanely hard I can't even play it. 1st movement is the easiest and I can't even play that. I wish I could play 3rd movement :(

Being in middle school may provide more practice time than an adult has ;)
I think there's usually 1-3 hours of practice each day (all voluntary, the kid plays instruments the way other people watch TV).

Wow, that's way more than we paid for any of our teachers. But we're in the middle of flyover country, USA where most things are cheaper.

£25 is actually very cheap. In London it's around £40-50+ lol.
