i second that. reading will help put me to sleep. luckily though i really can't remember the last time i had to do that.

OP, it may have been the wine or are you worried about something which you kept playing over in your head?

I usually roll over on the wife. Since I'm a guy, I am required by law to be asleep 5 minutes afterwards ;)

I've been just munching a couple of the Equate-branded sleeping bills with diphenhydramine hcl in them. They're cheap and they almost always work pretty well, even if I've been taking them too often.

I also tend to drink about 3 beers every single night.

Ya see, I don't have class until 12pm every day this semester, but I gots so much shit to do that I have to get up at 8am everyday! :|

Review the biographies of serial killers in my head. It's kind of like counting sheep.

I can't use reading because I need light and that would wake up my wife.

I usually go to another room and start doing stretches for my arms, legs, and back.

Well, last night I did some job-hunting, surfed for a while, played a little bit of Bioshock and then went back to bed and totalled about 3 hours of sleep as well. Normally I'll slip out of bed, because I don't want my tossing and turning to disrupt my wife's sleep.

I used to have a horrible time getting to sleep. Usually 1-2 hours a night spent in bed before actually going to sleep. Try to get more exercise in during the day and don't ever go to bed hungry. That's the worst.

Also, if you can try to get in the habit of sleeping about 6-7 hours a night it may help. I found I had more energy during the day and had a much easier time going to sleep at night as opposed to 8+ hours a night.
