It's worked pretty well for the last two years.

I had a student threaten me once when I was teaching. He was an ass and I was hoping he'd hit me. I was ready to take a fall to let him ride his expulsion out. He didn't swing, though.

hmmm... i used to teach self defense back in collge for my martial arts club. what we taught our students to just react to the situation. if your going to fight...just fight! don' stand there and talk sh!t or shove each other around waiting for the first person to throw the first punch. thats all a waste of time.

the best defense is a good offense and a good offense is the element of suprise.

Yeah, I've almost wanted a few guys to take a swing; I'm a pretty big guy, though I've never been in an actual fight so maybe I'd go down like a deck of cards. Either way the guy'd be screwed if he did it.

be calm, don't get in their face, but also let them know that you could wipe the floor with them if they started something :) or, if you have the option, just walk away.

never had it happen to me, though. the last fight I was in came out of nowhere... junior year of college. one minute, my roommate and I are getting along fine (as far as I was aware); the next minute, he has me thrown up against a bookcase and was trying to choke me. his girlfriend was able to get him to back off, and he dropped out of school because of his mental instability a few days later.

Just tell them,
"I want you to know that as a tourist, I'm helping to support your community. I'm spending my hard earned dollars here. Why, just this morning, I paid your mom for her, umm, special services. Tonight, I'll look up your sister and see how much she is an hour. "

Then, "I'm just kidding. I really don't want to fight you. Last time, I ended up getting sued for almost 100,000 by the 4 guys whose asses I kicked. Thank God they settled for only that much. 2 of them still might not ever make it out of their wheelchairs."
