I work for a fairly large 2500 ish corporation with 30-40 outlying offices. I used to be able to get on at, but, like the OP, they've recently nixed most forums. And for me, it's not worth quitting 😉

Works in some cases; translate the URL.

There are also services that'll do this for you.
 
I'll try it Wednesday when I work again. Thanks LoKe...what are some of the services if you don't mind my asking...

Work has "URL Translation sites" blocked.

What are the services? I'll pay a small monthly fee if it means I can surf forums at work 😉

Any tutorials on how to do this? I finally got broadband this week so no longer have to pay for a proxy service to view my favorite sites.

I am thinkng of using remote desktop but dont want to installthe client software in the office PC.


I know there is a way to use VNC using a web browser but I have heard this SSH tunnel suggestion a couple of times and am willing to learn more.

seems a little complicated, but will play around with it.
