Give it to them:

There but for the grace of God* go I.

*Insert other deity, chance or destiny as appropriate

Ask what vintage Thunderbird is on the Menu. On related note I had a crazy person ask me for 51 cents exactly. As for homeless/crazy people it depends. I'm more inclined if they don't act like they deserve it. I could care less what they do with it as long as they're thankful and gracious.

I despise it when the homeless ask me for money. More often than not they are where they are because of their inferiority, therefore they should be cast aside and forgotten. Those few who are not inferior will find a way out on their own. This is a fact. It cannot be denied. Everyone knows this.

Someday, when your circumstances outside of your control spin your life upside down, and it is you who is left with nothing but your dick in your hand, I will happily walk by and piss on your leg. You are one of the biggest tools on the internet. Your rug needs to be pulled.

depends on who asks

if it's a old lady from central america/native indian/hispanic, I give them money sparingly. I'm too scared that they may place some kind of curse on me. What's a couple of dollars to me for years of blessing

I ignore them. If the get real pushy I'll tell them I have none to give.

I act like I am reaching for my wallet when I suddenly take off running in the opposite direction as fast as I can.

I acknowledge them by looking at them and say "I'm sorry" and shake my head.

If they're honest I'm likely to give them something. But I had one guy say "I'm not a bum..." to me four times over the course of a year. F' him. He was a bum.

usually ignore them.

Though the thread does remind me of a semi-funny a couple years ago. Wife's brother and dad were in town, and we were all in the car driving to a restaurant. On the street corner is a guy with his sign looking for money. My wife, friend of humanity, wants to give him a $1. Both her brother and dad erupt in the backseat with "he's just going to use it to buy beer" and other shouts. We drive past, go to the restaurant, which sits adjacent to a 7-11. Halfway through our meal, same bum walks by the front window carrying a case of beer in a 7-11 bag. Laughs had by all.

I often give it. The real question is what to do when they say thanks and want to shake your hand...
